POSITION TITLE: Environmental Site Associate

REPORTS TO: Environmental Site Coordinator

LOCATION: Arleta, CA

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

SALARY: $17.30 Hourly Rate

  • All positions require candidates to successfully pass a background check, LIVE scan and TB Test
  • Multiple shifts available: 7AM-3:30PM, 11AM-7:30PM, 2PM-10PM

Environmental Site Associate

Maintains assigned guest and non-guest areas in a clean and sanitary condition by performing specialized cleaning tasks, which involve operating heavy-duty equipment and using special cleaning equipment. Environmental Site associate oversees housekeeping to ensure NHF remains healthy, safe and clean place to support our guest.

Responsibilities and Initiatives

To help NHF meet its growth goals, the Environmental Site Associate will:

  • Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collecting trash, room setups, removing & delivering linen, performing regular housekeeping duties and performing special projects as assigned.
  • Dust furniture, walls, picture frames, equipment, and blinds; clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors; vacuum, sweep, and mop floors; clean and stock restroom; collect and dispose of trash.
  • Performs discharge cleaning of guest rooms, nursing units, lounges, bathrooms, ancillary areas, offices, and any other areas assigned. Transports large carts of linen to and from various areas of the facility.
  • Comply with OSHA’s regulations.
  • Check and report any findings of contrabands.
  • Must attend all training and in-service provided.
  • Ensure the exterior of the program facility also remains clean and clutter free.
  • Provide support and complete daily physical plant inspections.
  • Project a positive professional image and adhere to organizational dress code.
  • Must be flexible to adapt to schedules changes to meet the needs of the facility.
  • Perform additional tasks/duties as assigned to meet the needs of the facility, notwithstanding primary roles.
  • Always follow NHF policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 6 months janitorial experience, in Healthcare or Recuperative Care (preferred).
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Some experience working in an environment with mental health, substance use disorder or related health care.
  • Knowledge of sanitation protocols and cleaning methods.
  • Ability to operate all types of housekeeping equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, auto-scrubbers, pressure/steam cleaning machine, etc.).
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish Preferred.
  • TB test required.
  • Fingerprint live scan /background required.

Physical Requirements

The duties as described will required frequent standing and walking. The employee will frequently bend/stoop, squat, reach above the shoulders, twist, and turn, kneel, and push/pull. The employee will frequently be required to lift/pull/push/move up to 50 pounds. Must utilize conversational speech for effective verbal communication. Noise level is high in some guest care areas.
