
St John of God Warrnambool Hospital we provide a range of private medical and surgical services ensuring specialist medical care for patients of all ages. Additionally, we deliver outpatient physiotherapy, dietetics and diabetes management services, and offer rehabilitation programs in a fully equipped gym with large hydrotherapy pool.
We are seeking Casual Environmental Services Assistants (ESA) to join our team. In this role you will participate as a member within the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high standard of cleaning services which contributes to the delivery of excellent customer service to caregivers, clients, patients and visitors to SJGHC Hospital/Services.
Shifts are rostered from 8:00am to 2:30pm, across weekdays and weekends.

The Position
Ensure high standard of cleaning, linen and waste handling are met and consistently maintained in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and cleaning schedules.
Maintain clean and safe common areas, patient wards/units, designated clinical and tenancy spaces and internal offices of the Hospital.
Ensure the safe and appropriate use of cleaning tools and equipment and report any faults/defects to the Supervisor/Manager.
Ensure appropriate signage is used to maintain a safe work environment.
Use chemical products safely and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and manufacturer instructions and guidelines.
You will possess a sound knowledge of basic cleanliness and hygiene standards, together with a strong understanding of and commitment to continuous quality improvement to support safe, effective, and high-quality service delivery.
To succeed in this role, you will have knowledge of safe manual handling techniques and the flexibility to perform duties across all areas of the Hospital relevant to the position. Previous experience in a healthcare environment and a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance will be highly regarded.

We can offer you
Salary $35.45 to $36.58 per hour (casual loading included) plus 12% superannuation
