Cleveland Clinic’s Environmental Services Department is consistently among the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare, andwe’relooking to add an Environmental Services Area Cleaner to our team to create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. The Environmental Services Area Cleaner role is a steppingstonetoother careers within Environmental Services and other departments withinClevelandClinic.

A caregiver in this position worksPRN (as needed)from 7:30AM – 4:00PM, with availability to work Monday-Friday and rotating weekends and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Cleanancillary and emergency room areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, publicrestroomsand other assigned areas in outpatient non-surgical settings.

  • Useappropriate cleaningproducts in wiping down surfaces, cleaning spills, emptying garbage cans, cleaning furniture and other tasks as assigned.

  • Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, examroomsand restrooms.

  • Followdepartmental policies and standard operating procedures.

  • Follow and adhere to all hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.

  • Complete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • HighSchoolDiploma orGED

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting, and reaching.

  • Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.

  • Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.

  • Light work – Exerting 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
