
The Environmental Service Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout the distribution center (DC). This includes performing heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, and carpets, as well as removing trash, maintaining exterior grounds, and operating specialized custodial equipment. This role ensures the building remains presentable, sanitary, and safe for employees and visitors.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
WILL WORK 7 DAYS A WEEK DURING PEAK SEASON
Office/Restroom Responsibilities
Service, clean, and supply restrooms on a scheduled basis.
Gather and empty trash within offices, break rooms, and restrooms.
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing as needed.
Clean windows, mirrors, and glass partitions using appropriate solutions and tools.
Shampoo, extract, and bonnet carpets as directed.
Scrub, strip, wax, and burnish hard floors as directed.
Prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Safely operate power equipment and follow all chemical handling procedures.
Respond to restroom and office cleanup requests as needed.
Report safety concerns, repair needs, or supply shortages to team lead.
Exterior Responsibilities
Pick up and remove trash and debris from grounds.
Empty exterior trash and cigarette receptacles.
Sweep or power wash entries and sidewalks.
DC Warehouse Responsibilities
Supply trash liners and other supplies to DC departments as requested.
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing as needed.
Safely operate custodial equipment to maintain warehouse cleanliness.
Respond to cleanup requests in DC areas.
May be trained to operate boom manlift equipment at heights up to 30 feet.
Assist with blood-borne pathogen cleanup as trained and required.
Report building maintenance concerns, safety issues, and supply needs to team lead.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous custodial, janitorial, or sanitation experience desirable.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. continuously and 30 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to climb stairs and work at heights up to 30 feet as needed.
Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb for 8–10 hour shifts.
Must be comfortable working in cold storage environments (−10° to 40°F).
Ability to operate custodial equipment and safely handle cleaning chemicals (training provided).
Reliable and consistent attendance required.
Willingness to work in demanding circumstances, including peak season and crowded conditions.
