Job Description

Job Title: Environmental Senior Manager

Department: Operations, Environmental - Carbon Neutrality/Circular Economy

Location: Seymour, IN

This position will function to provide environmental and carbon neutrality support and guidance to the North America production and non-production sites. This position will also be a liaison between North America and AISIN Japan to implement corporate activities to meet AISIN goals.

Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

  • Lead and support the promotion and execution of Departmental Hoshin Activity with Vision of 3yrs.
  • Support budget planning activities and monitor budget performance to ensure alignment with department objectives.
  • Provide environmental program support, guidance, and technical expertise to AISIN sites across North America.
  • Sustainability program coordination, s upport, and guidance related to carbon neutrality and circular economy objectives.
  • Communication and support with Customers concerning reporting.
  • Act as the North American environmental liaison with AISIN Japan to support global reporting and promotion.
  • Maintain, organize, and administration of environmental and sustainability training materials and programs.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment of environmental initiatives, priorities, and action plans across North American facilities.
  • Maintain standards and special items.
  • Lead special projects as assigned.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental management, environmental compliance, sustainability, or a related field, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with United States environmental regulations.
  • Experience with sustainability concepts such as carbon neutrality, circularity, waste and water reduction.
  • Experience with training (i.e., training material preparation/organization and control required).
  • Contract review experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience with environmental regulations in multiple states (preferably CA or IL).
  • Previous experience with renewable energy and renewable energy certificates.
  • Previous experience with ISO14001.
  • Previous experience with environmental regulations and compliance requirements in Mexico.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused approach.

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Chemistry, Biology, or a related science-based discipline required.

Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 35 %
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
  • Must have a valid US passport or ability to obtain such.
