Job Description

The Opportunity

Veolia Australia and New Zealand (Veolia) is seeking an experienced environmental reporting professional for a 9-month fixed term role to support Veolia’s various environmental reporting obligations and data-driven environmental improvements across our Water, Waste and Energy business entities.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Preparing submissions for regulatory disclosures,including the National Greenhouse Gas and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERS), Australian Carbon Credit Unit Scheme (ACCU), National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) and Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS)

  • Facilitating environmental and operational data collection from cross-functional teams and ensuring completeness of records

  • Participating in environmental audits to maintain compliance and develop governance frameworks for continual improvement

  • Supporting Veolia’s Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements, including group reporting and assisting with delivering initiatives contributing to Veolia’s global environmental objectives

Drawing on your relevant expertise and passion for the environment, you will be part of Veolia’s mission to make sustainable changes that help our stakeholders reduce their impact on the climate and local environments.

What you'll need to be successful

  • 2+ years in a reporting role
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Sustainability or a related field
  • Proven proficiency in environmental reporting, specifically regarding federal government obligations (NGERS, ACCUs, NPI, ASRS). Knowledge of carbon accounting is highly desirable
  • Skilled in data management and analytics. Familiarity with the use and maintenance of reporting tools and experience with Google Suite products
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, deliver environmental improvement initiatives and meet strict statutory deadlines with high attention to detail
  • Expertise in stakeholder engagement and the ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary and diverse teams
  • Detail oriented
