We seek a Senior-Level Environmental Manager, preferably with a Professional Engineering license to lead and manage our Environmental Department and associated projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards. This opportunity will be an exciting step for a professional looking to further develop a successful career. This position works closely with outside Clients and Corporate Principals and Project Managers. In addition, this position provides oversight to staff in developing remediation specifications and plans, investigations, monitoring, facility compliance, permitting, processes, storm water management, erosion and sedimentation controls, wetland identification, hazardous wastes, and other environmental activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in environmental engineering, project management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Environmental Department and Staff.
  • Lead and manage environmental/engineering projects from inception to completion ensuring projects meet established scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Ensure projects comply with environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct and/or manage tasks associated with environmental assessments and impact studies, environmental investigations, site inspections, and feasibility studies.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans.
  • Coordinate with other Corporate Departments regarding project management and staff workload and priorities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior environmental professionals, Engineers, CAD Technicians, Designers, and other Staff.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements.
  • Participate on the AEG Corporate Management Team and spearhead Environmental Department Business Development as part of the Corporate Marketing Team.
  • Develop proposals resulting in the award of work with new and existing clients as well as bundle-sell with Managers of other Corporate Departments.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil (Environmental) Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience/Training:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Environmental Engineering/oversight.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
  • Experience working on PennDOT projects, as well as other Agencies within Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware.

Required Licenses/Certificates/Registrations

  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification preferred.
  • Professional certification (e.g., PE, PG, CHMM, QEP) is preferred.

Physical Demands of Job

In accordance with OSHA and other federal workplace regulations, an Environmental Manager is expected to complete the following duties:

I. In a standard workday, ranging from 8-12 hours in length, this job requires a combination of the physical ability to:

– Sit/stand up to 8 hours;

– Walk up to 4 hours; and

– Roundtrip travel up to 6 hours.

II. Physical actions may include fieldwork using hands, arms, bending, squatting, and reaching consisting of: LIFT or CARRY and PUSH or PULL up to 50 pounds.
