Job Description
Under direct supervision, responsible for maintenance of all UT Health assets (fire alarm and suppression systems), ensuring systems are compliant with all NFPA standards. Coordinating comprehensive program for Institutional compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday from 8am-5pm
- Maintains all UT Health fire and life safety systems.
- Maintains program compliance with joint commission (JC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
- Advises campus administration on relevant fire and life compliance standards across campus.
- Assists in the development of standard operating procedures and other written guidelines.
- Inspects, identifies, and corrects fire and life safety deficiencies to maintain systems' integrity and NFPA compliance.
- Document and follow up corrective actions to full completion.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge in environmental health and safety or a related field.
- Ability to multitask, manage shifting priorities and follow through on projects.
- Ability to work in a construction/industrial environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with SharePoint.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Applied Science, Health or Environmental Science or equivalent experience is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- None required with a bachelor's degree.
- 4 years of relevant experience required without degree.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:
- Fire and Life Safety Certification is preferred.
- Valid Texas driver's license is required - must have a clean driving record.
