
The EHS Specialist supports environmental, health, and safety program execution across Jacksonville Vehicle and Parts Operations (VPO). This position conducts inspections, assists with incident investigations, evaluates compliance, analyzes data and trends, supports environmental compliance activities, delivers training, and partners with operational leaders to identify risks and drive continuous improvement. The role serves as a key field resource helping ensure safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible operations.
Conduct environmental, health, and safety inspections, assessments, compliance reviews, and field observations.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace concerns and assist with root cause analysis efforts.
Manage corrective action follow-up and support closure of findings resulting from inspections, incidents, audits, and compliance reviews.
Support implementation and maintenance of EHS programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Perform workplace assessments, measurements, monitoring activities, and risk evaluations.
Collect, enter, organize, maintain, and analyze EHS performance data, trends, inspection findings, and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
Maintain EHS records, reports, dashboards, and compliance documentation.
Support environmental compliance activities, including inspections, permits, waste management, hazardous materials, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Develop, coordinate, and deliver EHS training, including scheduling, tracking completion, and maintaining training records
Administer the First Aid/AED program, including coordination of supplies, equipment readiness, training support, inspections, and related documentation.
Develop and coordinate EHS communications, including safety signage, presentations, awareness campaigns, and other associate engagement initiatives.
Coordinate vendor services, contractor support activities, and related follow-up.
Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend risk reduction measures.
Respond to routine EHS inquiries and provide day-to-day program support to associates, supervisors, and operational leaders.
Partner with operations leaders and associates to promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field.
1-5 years of work experience or internship, preferably in EHS, compliance, environmental, safety, operations, manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or related experience.
Knowledge of OSHA standards and environmental compliance requirements.
Experience conducting inspections, investigations, corrective-action follow-ups, and compliance assessments.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and follow-up skills.
Valid driver's license.
Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass all applicable TSA-related background screening requirements necessary to access and support operations at the Blount Island facility.
Preferred:
Internship or hands-on working experience supporting EHS programs in industrial, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or operational environments.
Experience in logistics, distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environments.
Experience working with regulatory agencies or compliance audits.
Experience utilizing EHS software, incident management systems, or compliance management tools.
Professional certifications such as ASP, GSP, OHST, CHST, or similar credentials.
