Environmental Health & Safety Intern

West Fraser is a diversified North American wood products company producing southern yellow pine lumber and wood chips across the Southern US and Western Canada. We are the largest lumber producer in North America!

The EHS Intern will provide the mill with “hands-on” support and implementation that will ensure facility compliance with OSHA and EPA related federal, state and location Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) regulations and applicable Company policies.

• Mobile/Pedestrian Interface
• Safe Work Procedures
• Ionizing/Non-Ionizing Radiation Safety
• OSHA Regulations (1910 and 1926)
• Hot Work Management

• Fundamentals of Ergonomics
• Worker’s Compensation Regulation and Law
• Emergency Response Training and Procedures

Other requirements:

• Enrolled in or have completed a four-year Environmental Health degree program
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Pay:

• $22.00 per hour, minimum 40-hour work week, potentially more (will accommodate students who can only work part-time)
