Job Description

Dometic has an exciting summer internship within our Dometic Marine team. The internship is located in our Litchfield, Illinois facility which is our main distribution center that manages the packaging and distribution of aftermarket marine and OPE industrial products.  

Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to support our packaging & distribution facility’s safety and compliance initiatives. This paid internship offers valuable hands-on experience in occupational health, safety regulations, and environmental management. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in environmental health, safety laws, and workplace safety practices, with a focus on fostering a safe and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in conducting safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
• Support the development and implementation of safety training programs and materials.
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations following incidents or near misses to identify underlying issues.
• Help prepare reports related to safety performance, incident investigations, and compliance documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness activities, including first aid procedures and CPR training sessions.
• Collaborate with team members on initiatives related to occupational health and workers' compensation law.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, workers' compensation law, and occupational health principles preferred.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.
• Strong report writing skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and assist with training & development activities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Demonstrated interest in manufacturing safety practices and environmental health initiatives.
