Job Description
The Environmental Health & Safety Manager leads all environmental, health, and safety programs for the Oxnard facility, ensuring full compliance with Cal/OSHA, EPA, California state and local regulations. This role drives a proactive safety culture, reduces risk, and ensures operational compliance in a highly regulated environment.
This position will serve our Raypak Division, located in Oxnard, CA.
- Lead and manage all site EHS programs in compliance with Cal/OSHA, EPA, SCAQMD/VCAPCD (air quality), DTSC (hazardous waste), and local regulations
- Serve as the primary site contact for regulatory agencies, audits, inspections, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with key California programs, including:
- Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
- Hazard Communication (Title 8)
- Heat Illness Prevention
- Lockout/Tagout and Machine Guarding
- Respiratory Protection (as applicable)
- Oversee environmental compliance programs, including:
- Hazardous waste management (Title 22)
- Stormwater (SWPPP) and wastewater compliance
- Air permitting and emissions tracking
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions; ensure Cal/OSHA recordkeeping (Logs 300/301)
- Manage workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs in alignment with California regulations
- Partner with operations to drive ergonomic improvements and safe process design
- Lead site emergency preparedness programs, including earthquake, fire, and hazardous material response
- Track, analyze, and report EHS metrics; lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver required training (e.g., IIPP, forklift, hazard communication) and promote employee engagement
- Maintain all required permits, certifications, and regulatory reporting (e.g., CUPA, Tier II, emissions)
- Manage EHS budgets, vendors, consultants, and contractors
- Supervise and develop any EHS or related support staff
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7 years of EHS experience, including leadership responsibility
- Manufacturing or industrial experience required
Technical Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of Cal/OSHA Title 8 regulations and California environmental laws
- Experience with IIPP, workers’ compensation (CA), hazardous waste, air quality, and water compliance programs
- Demonstrated experience managing regulatory inspections and audits

Supporting Innovation
The pay scale of this role is $82,300 - $131,600. Please note all pay ranges are broadly stated and any final offer is dependent on factors such as location, direct experience, market guidance and internal equity, among other qualifying criteria.
