Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases is a leading provider of cryogenic pumps, heat exchangers, process systems, turboexpanders, services, and solutions for the liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied hydrogen (LH2), and industrial gases industries. Applications include fueling stations, marine engines, peak shaving, power generation, virtual pipelines, carbon capture, geothermal power and well stimulation. Nikkiso Clean Energy and Industrial Gases (NCEIG) seeks an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager to contribute to the development and execution of our business plan and long-term growth strategy. In this exciting role, the EHS Manager/Senior Advisor aims to establish strategies and systems to execute the corporate EHS goals and objectives and ensure conformance with corporate initiatives. This role supports all sites in developing and implementing world-class EHS programs within the organization.

This position reports to the Corporate Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Director. It works with other functional EHS Leads across the company on the development and implementation of EHS standards and systems.

Ideally, this position would be in Seal Beach, California. Remote candidates in the United States who are within commuting distance from a US Nikkiso site are also an option.

Salary Range:$120,000 - $160,000

Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementing the corporate EHS strategy to mitigate risk to people, property, and the environment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS and sustainability policies in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Provide EHS subject matter expertise, technical assistance, and guidance, including ergonomics, industrial hygiene, safety, environmental, natural disaster, business continuity, and occupational health processes.
  • Maintain eCompliance, NCEIG-wide mandatory electronic reporting incident reporting and corresponding action tracking system.
  • Ensure the accurate reporting of key performance metrics, including occupational injury/illness, environmental, and GHG inventory results.
  • Partners with site EHS Leads to ensure compliance with Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists EHS Leads in identifying budgetary needs to address risk reduction and compliance assurance.
  • Drives initiatives to reduce the NCEIG's environmental footprint, including resource conservation and waste reduction projects.
  • Assists EHS Leads in closing out property/casualty recommendations from third parties such as Travelers.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry best practices, changes in regulations, and emerging trends in EHS.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety Compliance and Sustainability experience with five (5) years of leadership experience or an Advanced Degree with five (5) years of relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety Compliance experience with five (5+) years of managerial experience.
  • Aerospace industry experience a plus
  • Deployment and implementation of EHS and/or Sustainability programs and initiatives across a multinational organization.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and influence skills.
  • Familiarity with working in manufacturing or oil/gas industries.
  • Proven technical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Experience in data analytics associated with EHS electronic management systems.
  • Excellent communication and training skills. Ability to discern and appropriately communicate sensitive issues.
  • Experience with management system standards, such as ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Strong substantive knowledge of regulations and guidance promulgated by Federal OSHA, EPA and NFPA.
  • Collaborative leadership style, sound judgment, and not being afraid to roll up your sleeves to achieve goals and deliver solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
