About this opportunity:

Lead and manage the EHSW function to ensure compliance with legal, customer and company requirements while promoting a strong safety culture and supporting operational excellence across telecom field operations.

What you will do:

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of EHSW programs, policies and compliance requirements
  • Oversee daily governance of Permit-to-Work (PTW), Pre-Climb Check (PCC), Lone Worker and Night Work processes
  • Manage incident reporting, investigations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)
  • Ensure timely inspections of project sites, vehicles, PPE, tools and contractor activities
  • Review and approve risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures
  • Lead onboarding, safety induction and competency verification for contractors and field personnel
  • Prepare and present EHS performance reports to Management, customers and stakeholders
  • Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings
  • Drive EHS awareness programs, training, workshops and wellbeing initiatives
  • Represent the organization in customer EHS governance meetings and regulatory engagement
  • Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the EHSW team and operational stakeholders
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and act as a Compliance Ambassador across the organization

Requirements

(a) Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of EHS experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Experience in telecommunications, construction, infrastructure, utilities or other high-risk operational environments
  • Hands-on experience managing contractors, field operations, permit-to-work systems and regulatory compliance
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, RCA, CAPA and risk assessments
  • Experience supporting ISO audits and management systems


(b) Certifications

  • Certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) registered with DOSH Malaysia (preferred)
  • Incident Investigation, Risk Assessment or Train-the-Trainer certifications are an advantage


(c) Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian Occupational Safety and Health regulations
  • Excellent risk assessment, incident investigation and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication abilities
  • Ability to influence contractors and operational teams to achieve compliance
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to present performance trends to senior management and customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and digital EHS reporting tools
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment while maintaining high compliance standards
