APTIM is currently seeking an Environmental Field Tech for our Solid Waste Services Group in the Concord CA area to support our exciting portfolio of projects. We provide the following services to both the public and private sectors: The ideal candidate will have experience in:

• Stormwater compliance,
• Environmental compliance audits,
• Groundwater monitoring compliance,
• Landfill gas compliance,
• Solid Waste Reporting for site-specific and General Waste Discharge Requirements.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Groundwater, leachate, landfill gas monitoring, surface water, and soil sampling
• Maintenance and calibration of field monitoring equipment
• Coordination with the field team and laboratory to prepare sampling paperwork and bottle orders for sampling events
• Prepare testing, sampling, or inspection is performed consistent with guidelines and proper standard of care
• Perform Construction Quality Assurance Services (CQA) for landfill construction
• Perform earthwork testing, including nuclear density testing
• Perform soil logging and oversight during drilling
• Prepare daily reports and data sheets

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or college degree
• 3+ years of similar experience
• Applicant must possess a valid Drivers' License and clean driving record
• 40-hr HAZWOPER current certificate, or ability to complete the training within one month of hire
• Physical work the ability to lift 50 pounds will be required
• Ability and drive to work alone, along with working in a team environment as needed
• Willing to travel
• Proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with solid waste / landfills sites
• Strong troubleshooting abilities relating to industrial controls
• Ability to read civil and mechanical drawings
• Must be able to occasionally access confined operational spaces

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $28- $34 per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
