We’re excited to welcome new talent to our Environmental Group as an Environmental Engineer/Scientist – Emergency Response In this role, you’ll be part of an energetic and dynamic team, working on a variety of exciting projects across North America. Your contributions will matter as you conduct scientific testing, investigative work, guide clients, and help manage projects and make an impact every day alongside skilled professionals in a collaborative matrix environment.

The role can be based out of our Edmonton or Calgary, AB offices.

Responsibilities:

Emergency Spill Response:

Field Work:

  • Participate in emergency spill response projects
  • Responsible for contractor oversight tasks including containment/confinement of spills, drilling, monitoring well installation, soil excavation, product removal, stream rehabilitation, site restoration, etc.
  • Conduct water level monitoring, groundwater sampling, surface water sampling, and soil sampling

Report Writing:

  • Assist with preparation of proposals, work plans, reports, and regulatory submissions on behalf of clients
  • Create progress updates and draft reports to be reviewed by supervisor or project manager
  • Process, analyze, and present data for review by project manager
  • Assist in the preparation of project related memorandums and reports

  • Open to travel and outdoors work in remote areas

Experience:

  • B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Geological, Chemical or equivalent)
  • 2 - 3 years of experience required, co-op experience would be considered a benefit
  • Flexible work schedule, ability to work weekends, holidays and nights when required
  • Previous experience working in a consulting environment would be an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • High level of attention to detail, analytical skills along with time management skills to be able to meet deadlines
  • Field work will require working long hours, working in inclement weather conditions, and lifting up to 50 lbs, when required
  • This position will be roughly 70% field and 30% office, with the option to work from home in our hybrid model.
