We are seeking Environmental Technicians to join our Infrastructure Environmental Management (IEM) team for a full-time contract from August 2026 to February 2027 to assist with large infrastructure projects. You can expect either 14 or 21 day shifts.
Responsibilities:
Perform barge-based construction monitoring, including marine mammal observation, hydroacoustic, and water quality data collection.
Work with project contractors and owners to identify and address environmental management and protection measures.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction environmental monitoring.
Relevant technical diploma, undergraduate degree, or equivalent with appropriate qualifications for work in BC.
Relevant professional certification (BIT, RP Bio, RB Tech, AAg, PAG, AScT).
A Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP).
Direct experience as a construction environmental monitor, with exposure to erosion and sediment control, water quality, fish salvage, bird nesting surveys, and acoustic monitoring.
Other Assets/Skills:
Must have a valid Canadian driver’s license for the past three years, and the ability to meet the requirements for our third-party automobile insurance policy.
Excellent problem-solving skills to ensure project delivery and compliance through creative and adaptable solutions.
Understanding of pertinent environmental legislation, regulations, and guidance documents.
