Job Description

We require a cleaner to join our Environmental Services team to provide an efficient and effective cleaning service in accordance with Seymour Health Cleaning Standards, Infection Control procedures and Department of Health cleaning principles.

It is important that you have the flexibility to cover offered shifts - Monday to Sunday across morning, afternoon or nights, including public holidays as required.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide an efficient and effective delivery of cleaning services
  • Perform cleaning duties as per position duties schedule and responsibilities in accordance with cleaning practices and standards to ensure infection control and quality standards are met
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment to comply with WH&S legislation and maintain strict adherence to Safe Work Practices
  • Comply with Manual Handling guidelines
  • Use cleaning products and chemicals in accordance with Material Safety Data specifications, attend training and implement updates in accordance with policies and guidelines for cleaning procedures
  • Monitor stock levels and provide ordering requirements for cleaning products, linen and requirements for the facility
  • Provide internal waste removal, Including emptying waste bins and linen skips (including contaminated waste/soiled linen)

About you:

  • Contribute effectively to a team environment and independently as required
  • Able to complete the physical tasks associated with the role
  • Knowledge of WHS and manual handling requirements
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to cover leave as required
