
Environmental and Sustainability CoordinatorEast Harbor Transit Hub Alliance Major Projects division is in search of an Environment & Sustainability Coordinator to join a transformative transit infrastructure project in Toronto. The Environment & Sustainability Coordinator role will be part of a high-performing project team that is dedicated to delivering this complex undertaking through collaboration and a best-for-project vision. The role will report to the Environmental and Sustainability Lead.
This role is based out of office in Toronto, ON.
Implement controls and mitigation measures of environmental assessment for the project following the relevant assessment processes
Coordinate subcontractors, where required, to undertake and complete environmental activities and assessments
Work closely with the design team to ensure sustainability concepts are considered
Ensure sustainability requirements are implemented and evidence obtained for LEED credit requirements
Support the development of submission for LEED
Oversee and undertake environmental monitoring, as required, including the inspections and surveying of: Collecting soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapour and air samples
Assist with the installation, operation and maintenance of remediation systems
Compile, process and present data, figures and plans to provide updates on environmental and sustainability data, tracking and performance
Analyze data to identify trends, impacts and continuous improvement strategies and develop educational programs that will result in improved performance
Undertake site inspections to ensure environmental and sustainability requirements are implemented on site. This includes daily site walks, weekly site inspections and toolbox talks.
Prepare and participate in Environmental and Sustainability audits
Celebrate wins and promote good Environmental and Sustainability culture through leadership and inclusion
Post-secondary education in environment, sustainability, health, safety, or equivalent.
3 -5 years’ prior experience in sustainability data processing.
Combines excellent organizational, technical, numerical and communication skills to demonstrate logical thinking and concise reporting
Working knowledge of LEED Operations and Maintenance
Proven ability to manipulate spreadsheets using quantitative and analytical reasoning.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with a strong emphasis in Excel (Microsoft Power BI considered an asset).
Experience with developing reports, analyzing data, and finding trends.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
