This Position reports to:

Health and Safety Manager


The holder of this position is interested in developing their knowledge and skills in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS), has strong collaboration abilities, and enjoys keeping things organized. They are motivated to work with others and to make the work environment safer for everyone through their problem‑solving abilities and creativity.

The successful candidate will spend a significant portion of their time in various production areas and administrative zones to ensure internal clients are supported in developing best safety practices. As a result, the incumbent must be motivated, independent, organized, and structured.

Working within the Environment, Health, and Safety department, they will collaborate closely with the Infrastructure department. They will receive appropriate guidance and coaching based on their level of expertise.

This role reports directly to the EHS Manager for the Québec site.

Your Responsibilities

  • Acts as support in EHS matters EHS support activities
  • Supports departments in implementing the EHS program and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement continuous improvement opportunities
  • Conducts regular facility inspections to identify hazards and risks in order to prevent injuries, spills, or other EHS impacts facility hazard inspections
  • Participates in the task safety analysis process task safety analysis
  • Compiles and reports health and safety data for corporate reporting health and safety data reporting
  • Assists the organization in managing chemical products chemical management support
  • Supports employees with ergonomic‑related issues ergonomic problem support
  • Collaborates with managers, supervisors, and staff to identify and implement corrective measures following the identification of unsafe behaviors corrective action implementation
  • Develops and distributes communications on EHS‑related topics EHS communications
  • And many other interesting tasks additional responsibilities

Requirements

  • Completion of 2 years in a university program in one of the following fields: health and safety, industrial relations, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or completion of 2 years in a technical program related to the field educational background requirements
  • Excellent command of French and English language proficiency
  • Asset: skills in industrial hygiene and/or ergonomics industrial hygiene or ergonomics skills
  • Full‑time on‑site work with occasional authorized work‑from‑home days on‑site work expectations
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint software proficiency
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow an action plan and meet deadlines organizational abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills communication skills
