What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Champion our safety culture and initiatives, and serve as a resource for employees for health and safety related questions and requests
• Ensure accurate record keeping of health & safety compliance files
• Manage documents such as TDG updates and manifests, license renewals, and Hazardous Waste Information Network documents
• Monitor legislative updates and assist with updating policies, procedures, and training materials accordingly
• Enter data and ensure follow-ups of incidents/accidents and participate in accident investigations and analysis
• Support branch onboarding processes by preparing orientation materials, training assignments, and compliance documentation
• Maintain, update, and audit training records
• Assist with branch audits and document deficiencies and submit corrective actions
• Assist with workers compensation claims management and assist with the coordination of the return-to-work process
• Coordinate contractor pre-qualification and compliance systems including ISNetworld, Contractor Compliance, Cognibox, and related platforms
• Administer and maintain health and safety management systems and databases
• Support COR2020, ISO, and internal audit preparation activities through document collection, tracking, and administrative coordination
• Maintain and monitor action item tracking systems to ensure timely completion of corrective actions and audit findings
• Assist with regulatory submissions, compliance reporting, and government documentation as required
• Coordinate vendor and contractor safety documentation including insurance certificates, licenses, and training verification
• Assist with safety communications, toolbox talks, bulletins, and company-wide safety initiatives
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements:
• At least 3 years of health and safety experience is preferred, preferably in the construction industry or a closely related field
• Valid Class G Driver's license with clean or satisfactory driver's abstract
• Post-secondary diploma in Environment, Health and Safety Management or a closely related program, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with workers compensation injury reporting and submissions
• Experience working with health and safety management systems and digital compliance platforms (eCompliance, ISNetworld, Cognibox, Contractor Compliance, LMS platforms, etc.) is an asset
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Passion for health, safety and ethical work standards
• Effective communication skills reflected in the ability to foster strong working relationships
• Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and branch locations
• Strong document management, data entry accuracy, and recordkeeping skills
• Able to exercise discretion and tact in sensitive and confidential situations
• Willingness to travel to branches as needed
• Knowledge of provincial environment, health and safety legislation
• Knowledge of COR process
• Knowledge of heavy equipment and construction industry terms and processes is an asset
