Job Description

As an Environment Artist at BULKHEAD, you’ll build on your industry experience to help create visually stunning and immersive environments. Working closely with Senior team members, you’ll be starting to take ownership of creating props, modular assets, and large-scale environment scenes that align with both artistic and technical project goals.

You’ll be expected to demonstrate initiative in researching and interpreting visual references and styles, refining your ability to create assets that meet both visual appeal and technical precision. As you collaborate with Artists, Designers, and Production, you’ll apply feedback to improve your work, with an increasing level of autonomy and confidence in your decisions.

This role is an opportunity for you to further develop your skill set, taking on more complex tasks and expanding your ownership of assets while continuing to grow as an integral part of the team. You will balance creative innovation with technical execution and continue to strengthen your contributions to the overall project.

What you’ll do

-Build scenes, prefabs and modular kits that bring the world to life, interpreting concept art with the right form, scale and composition.

-Gather references and create mood boards to guide your assets and environments.

-Contribute visual ideas during preproduction and beyond, suggesting improvements while staying true to the art direction.

-Create realistic, game-ready materials using PBR workflows, with a strong eye for texture detail and material accuracy.

-Build modular kits to design’s metric requirements so they scale cleanly across the world.

-Integrate assets into UE5 following documented workflows, and solve geometry, texture and profiling-led performance issues.

-Own the quality of your scenes with minimal oversight, estimating tasks well and hitting deadlines.

-Present your work in art reviews, give and take feedback openly, and collaborate closely with Design, Tech Art and Production.
