Overview

Job Summary: The Area Cleaner primarily cleans, dusts, polishes furniture, disinfects hospital facilities, including patient and non-patient care areas, removes refuse materials and hazardous waste, moves furniture and equipment while restocking supplies within all facilities of the hospital.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

1. Follows directions and performs work according to department standards.

1. Knows and utilizes the 7 step cleaning procedure, scoring 85% or greater upon inspections.
2. Demonstrates consistent application of AIDET customer service principles when interacting with patient and visitors.
3. Cleaned rooms are left in a neat and organized condition upon readiness for patient use.
4. Secures cleaning supplies and equipment when left unattended.
5. Follows proper chemical mixing guidelines.
6. Follows universal precaution protocols and Infection Control procedures.
7. Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: Reading, writing and effective communication skills are required. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to work in a team structured fast paced environment.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred

Experience: Some clinical cleaning desired but not necessary.
