This position performs maintenance and minor repairs to the company’s fleet. The fleet consists of vehicles and heavy equipment (top loaders, mules, forklifts, step vans, cars, etc.). To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · Minimum one (1) year of work experience in equipment or vehicle maintenance, repairs, operations, and maintenance programs.
· Knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures involved in maintenance repairs.· Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) in basic English.· Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric information.· Ability to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed.· Ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative.· Possess organizational and time management skills.· Well-developed interpersonal skills.· Ability to deal effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors,and fellow employees.· Ability to think logically, follow procedures and instructions, and make sound decisions.· Must be able to obtain a forklift certification within 90 days of employment.· Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary· Perform all planned maintenance on diesel engines and on fuel, brake, and transmission systems to ensure peak performance, safety, and longevity of equipment.· Perform minor repair work to the brake, electric, and hydraulic systems.· Assist in the overhaul, repair, and/or rebuild of all vehicles and power industrial trucks.· Fix and/or replace lights on all vehicles and power industrial trucks.· Maintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards, and maintain an awareness of surrounding (i.e. vehicles, equipment, etc.) at all times.Secondary
