THE COMPANY:

Juul Labs's mission is to transition the world’s billion adult smokers away from combustible cigarettes, eliminate their use, and combat underage usage of our products. We have the opportunity to address one of the world’s most intractable challenges through a commitment to exceptional quality, research, design, and innovation. Backed by leading technology investors, we are committed to the same excellence when it comes to hiring great talent.

We are a diverse team that is united by this common purpose and we are hiring the world’s best engineers, scientists, designers, product managers, operations experts, and customer service and business professionals. If the opportunity to build your career is compelling, read on for more details.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Enterprise Systems Engineer who leads with AI – not as a tool on the side, but as the foundation of how enterprise systems are implemented, integrated, and operated. You will own the technical execution of our Workday and ERP ecosystem, leveraging Claude, Gemini, and Cursor to drive implementation velocity, integration quality, and continuous system improvement. This role will be an intelligent system engineer and builder for the data pipelines and AI agentic workflows connecting Juul Lab’s global HCM, ERP, and CRM landscape. We are looking for a developer who doesn't just "connect" systems but builds an autonomous, resilient integration layer. This role shall bring deep platform knowledge and the judgement to know when to configure, when to code, and when to let AI do the heavy lifting.

  • Serve as a cross-functional technical expert across the Workday with the Enterprise Systems (ERP) ecosystems ensuring system integrity, data quality, and alignment with evolving business requirements.
  • Identify, pilot, and scale low-friction AI use cases across Enterprise Systems – including streamlining internal operations
  • Lead Workday and ERP implementations using AI-augmented methodologies – from requirements extraction and gap analysis through UAT script generation, training material creation, and post go-live support
  • Leverage Cursor with LLM-pair programming (Claude/Gemini) to achieve step-change development velocity on integration builds, transformation scripts, and API documentation.
  • Generate and maintain UAT test scripts, data migration mappings, and functional specifications documents using AI tooling – reducing manual authoring time.
  • Produce high-fidelity technical documentation using AI tooling to draft than human review to validate
  • Write and maintain robust code (Python, JavaScript, or SQL) to automate business logic and system workflows. You will move beyond "out-of-the-box" features to build custom solutions that solve complex enterprise challenges.
  • Serve as the technical lead for massive "Source-to-Target" migration workstreams. You will personally execute the ETL processes, ensuring that legacy data is scrubbed, normalized, and mapped correctly into modern environments.
  • Develop and maintain AI-augmented workflows within the Juul Labs ecosystem, utilizing Claude and Gemini to build intelligent agents that assist in compliance monitoring and cross-system data reconciliation
  • Identify architectural weaknesses and implement preventative measures to ensure long-term platform stability across the Workday and ERP ecosystem.

CORE TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Advanced proficiency in Cursor for rapid prototyping and code review
  • Hands on experience with Claude/Gemini for agentic workflow design, requirements synthesis, test generation, and documentation automation.
  • Experience integrating AI tooling into enterprise delivery workflows – not just productivity, but team-level process change
  • Deep understanding of the data objects and backend structures of Tier 1 platforms (e.g., Workday, Acumatica, Big Query, ServiceNow).
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday HCM - data model, integration framework (EIBs, Workday Studio, or Extend), and business process configuration
  • Expert proficiency in SQL (data profiling, validation, stored procedures, CTEs, performance tuning) for data profiling and validation. You must understand complex relational schemas and how to maintain referential integrity across disparate systems. Expert proficiency in at least one high-level language (Python, JavaScript, C#, or Ruby).
  • Deep hands-on experience with REST/SOAP API Design, JSON/XML parsing, and iPaaS platforms. You should be comfortable building custom connectors.
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines for system updates, and producing high-fidelity technical documentation (ERDs, Sequence Diagrams).
  • Documentation Excellence: Mastery in producing high-fidelity technical artifacts including Sequence Diagrams, RDs, Data Flow Diagrams, and Functional Specification Documents (FSDs)

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of technical experience in Systems Engineering, Integration Development, or ERP/HCM implementation
  • Must have personally executed at least two enterprise-scale HCM or ERP implementations or global system migrations.
  • Demonstrated track record of adopting AI tools to change how work gets done – redesigning delivery workflows around LLM capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis, validation, and working with large data sets.
  • Exceptional ability to deconstruct complex business rules into logical, executable code
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

About Juul Labs

Juul Labs is a thriving team of scientists, engineers, designers and professionals who are committed to offering adult smokers alternatives to combustible cigarettes, while combating underage use of our products. JUUL products are designed to transition adult smokers from combustible cigarettes by providing a competitive nicotine experience.

Product

Juul Labs’ technology was developed in support of our mission. The JUUL product consists of two main components: e-liquid and the JUUL device. JUUL e-liquid aims to provide a nicotine experience similar to combustible cigarette use. The JUUL device is built to deliver this e-liquid as a vapor while maintaining a low temperature regulation system designed to minimize combustion.

Revolutionary thinking

Adam Bowen and James Monsees co-founded Juul Labs when they applied their background in product design to the challenge of finding a true alternative to smoking combustible cigarettes. As smokers for many years, they could find no acceptable alternative. Adam and James recognized an opportunity to apply industrial design to the tobacco industry. The result was the JUUL product.

Our commitment

We understand that trust in our company and category has eroded with our stakeholders and it is our responsibility to earn back that trust through our actions. To earn a license to operate in society, we are putting stakeholder trust at the center of what we do and make choices that are informed by the views of our stakeholders, including and especially our regulators.

Our intent

Our customer base is the world’s one billion adult smokers. We do not want any non-nicotine users, especially those underage, to try our products as they exist only to transition the world’s one billion adult smokers away from combustible cigarettes. We believe smokers should first and foremost quit. But for those who cannot or will not quit, access to alternatives to combustible cigarettes and accurate information about those alternatives is critical.
