Enterprise Systems Director provides strategic and operational leadership for Shalom Austin’s technology infrastructure, enterprise systems, organizational data, cybersecurity, reporting, technology support and digital transformation.

The Director ensures systems are secure, reliable, integrated, effectively utilized, and aligned with organizational priorities. This role leads technology planning, budgeting, system implementations, data governance, process improvement, user adoption, and the responsible use of automation and AI.

The Director reports to the Chief Financial Officer and supervises the IT Specialist and CRM Database Manager.

Essential functions

Information Strategy and Leadership

  • Develop and maintain an organization-wide technology and information strategy aligned with Shalom Austin’s priorities and long-term goals.
  • Create a multiyear roadmap for enterprise systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, reporting, governance, automation, and emerging technologies.
  • Partner with organizational leaders to identify opportunities to improve operations and constituent experiences through better use of technology and information.
  • Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements, consolidation, replacement, or new investments.
  • Establish clear system ownership, decision-making responsibilities, and accountability.
  • Establish organization-wide standards for data quality, security, access, stewardship, documentation, and reporting.
  • Ensure organizational information is accurate, reliable, appropriately accessible, and useful for decision-making.
  • Reduce manual reporting through improved systems, integrations, automation, and self-service tools.
  • Maximize the value and adoption of technology investments through configuration, integration, documentation, and process improvement.

Change Management and User Adoption

  • Lead organizational readiness and change management for new systems, processes, and technology initiatives.
  • Develop communication, training, documentation, user training plans and adoption metrics.
  • Monitor adoption and address areas requiring additional training, support, or process changes.
  • Gather user feedback and incorporate operational needs into future system improvements.

Technology Operations and Cybersecurity

  • Oversee networks, cloud platforms, hardware, software, telecommunications, user devices, audiovisual technology, and end-user support.
  • Establish standards for equipment, software, licensing, user access, system configuration, and replacement planning.
  • Oversee cybersecurity controls, backups, disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response.
  • Evaluate automation, AI, and emerging technologies that may improve productivity, reporting, services, and constituent experience.
  • Coordinate testing and pilot programs before organization-wide implementation.
  • Advise leadership on relevant technology opportunities, risks, and limitations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, technology, computer science, data management, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, enterprise systems, data management, or a related field.
  • Experience supervising employees, vendors, consultants, or project teams.
  • Knowledge of technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, CRM platforms, databases, reporting, integrations, and data-management practices.
  • Strong project-management, change-management, analytical, communication, problem-solving, and customer-service skills.
  • Experience overseeing both IT operations and CRM, database, reporting, or analytics functions.
  • Experience overseeing enterprise-wide implementations, governance frameworks, business process redesign, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, identity and access management, business-intelligence tools, and system integrations.
  • Experience in a nonprofit, membership, community-service, healthcare, education, or similarly complex organization.
