We are seeking an experienced Enterprise & Solutions Architect to provide strategic technology leadership across the service business units digital & AI initiatives. The role will be responsible for defining architecture standards, technology direction, platform strategies, and governance practices that ensure digital solutions are scalable, secure, reusable, and aligned with Siemens Energy's enterprise architecture landscape.
The Enterprise & Solutions Architect serves as a trusted advisor to business leaders, digital teams, developers, product owners, and technology stakeholders, guiding architectural decisions across enterprise applications, cloud platforms, AI solutions, integrations, and data ecosystems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that new initiatives leverage existing capabilities wherever possible and contribute to a sustainable and governed technology landscape.
You will work closely with solution teams, data governance specialists, cybersecurity advisors, and AI solution engineers to establish architecture principles, evaluate technology options, drive standardization, and align investments with Siemens Energy's long-term digital strategy. The position requires broad enterprise technology expertise, deep understanding of integration patterns, and strong experience navigating complex global IT environments.
A Snapshot of your Day
A typical day involves consulting with project teams and business stakeholders on digital initiatives, reviewing solution architectures, evaluating platform selections, and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards. You may facilitate architecture reviews, advise teams on technology reuse opportunities, assess integration approaches, and help guide strategic decisions on platforms such as Mendix, Snowflake, SAP, Power Platform, and AI technologies.
You collaborate with enterprise governance bodies, solution architects, cybersecurity experts, and product teams to balance business needs with architectural consistency, scalability, and long-term maintainability. Your recommendations help reduce technical complexity, improve reuse, and accelerate delivery of business value across the service business unit’s landscape.
How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities of role)
Strategic
• Define and maintain enterprise architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, and technology governance frameworks that guide digital transformation initiatives.
• Establish target-state architectures and technology roadmaps that align business priorities with Siemens Energy's enterprise strategy and long-term digital vision.
• Advise leadership and project teams on platform selection, technology investments, and architectural approaches to maximize scalability, resilience, and business value.
• Driving landscape standardization and application rationalization efforts to reduce complexity, improve interoperability, and increase technology reuse across service business units.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, cloud services, AI platforms, and enterprise capabilities to support innovation while maintaining governance and architectural integrity.
• Provide architectural leadership for enterprise-wide initiatives spanning applications, integrations, data platforms, analytics, cloud environments, and digital solutions.
• Collaborate with governance boards and technology stakeholders to ensure architecture decisions align with enterprise standards, security requirements, and business objectives.
Operational
• Review solution designs and technical architectures to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards and approved technology patterns.
• Guide project teams through architecture assessments, design reviews, and governance processes throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Define integration approaches, API strategies, and enterprise connectivity patterns that enable secure and scalable cross-platform solutions.
• Support build-versus-buy and build-versus-reuse evaluations by assessing business requirements, technical feasibility, cost, and strategic fitness.
• Partner with development teams to ensure enterprise applications, cloud solutions, and digital products are designed for maintainability, resilience, and future scalability.
• Facilitate architecture workshops and stakeholder discussions to align technical solutions with business capabilities and operational requirements.
• Identify architectural risks, technical debt, and optimization opportunities while driving continuous improvement across the technology landscape.
What You Bring (required qualification and skill sets)
• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, technology consulting, or strategic IT roles.
• Proven experience designing and governing enterprise-scale digital solutions across applications, integrations, data, cloud, and business technology domains.
• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture methodologies, architecture governance, solution design, and technology strategy development.
• Strong knowledge of application integration patterns, API architectures, middleware solutions, and enterprise interoperability approaches.
• Experience with modern cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or hybrid enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated experience advising business and technology stakeholders on architecture decisions, platform strategies, and transformation initiatives.
• Working knowledge of enterprise applications, business platforms, data ecosystems, and digital solution delivery frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management, consulting, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in large global organizations and cross-functional environments with multiple technology domains and governance bodies.
• Ability to evaluate architecture trade-offs while balancing innovation, cost, risk, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
• Strong understanding of architecture governance processes, standards management, and enterprise technology lifecycle management.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience within Siemens Energy or a similar large industrial, energy, engineering, or manufacturing enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of Siemens Energy's IT landscape, enterprise systems, and governance frameworks. The role particularly benefits candidates already familiar with existing enterprise architecture practices and application ecosystems.
• Professional certifications such as TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Architect, or equivalent enterprise architecture credentials.
• Experience supporting digital transformation, cloud modernization, AI adoption, and enterprise platform consolidation initiatives.
• Familiarity with Application Portfolio Management (APM), business capability modeling, and technology portfolio optimization.
• Experience with architecture review boards, strategic planning processes, and enterprise governance programs.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity-by-design, data governance, and regulatory considerations within enterprise architecture frameworks.
