Job Description

Bring your authentic and passionate self to this exceptional role #careerswithimpact

At HESTA, our purpose is simple and powerful: to deliver strong long-term outcomes for our members. To support this, we have created a pivotal new senior role within our Risk function – an opportunity for an experienced Enterprise Data, Risk and Insights leader to shape how risk intelligence informs decision-making. The role is ideal for a lead who combines deep technical capability with executive presence, and who is trusted to translate complex enterprise risk data into clear, compelling narratives for Executive, Board and Secretarial audiences.

As the Enterprise Risk - Data, Reporting and Insights Lead, you will evolve HESTA’s Enterprise Risk Reporting Framework, ensuring it delivers forward-looking, decision-ready insights. You will be a key partner to senior leaders, enabling confident governance, stronger risk foresight, and enhanced strategic outcomes through high-quality data and reporting. A thought leadership and influencing role, requiring judgement, credibility, and the ability to engage at senior and executive level with confidence.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead enterprise-wide risk reporting and insights, shaping how risk information is interpreted, contextualised, and presented to key stakeholders including Executive, Board and Committees.
  • Design, uplift and embed fit-for-purpose reporting aligned to HESTA’s Risk Management Framework, governance obligations, and regulatory expectations.
  • Deliver Board-quality reporting–clear, concise, and insightful–supporting effective oversight and informed decision-making.
  • Extract, analyse and interpret data from HESTA’s GRC system, turning complex datasets into meaningful insights and emerging risk.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the business, engaging in trusted, high-impact conversations to influence outcomes and drive risk maturity.
  • Provide forward-looking insights, identifying trends, emerging risks and opportunities using analytics, scenario analysis and evolving tools (including AI).
  • Champion consistency, accountability and continuous improvement in enterprise risk reporting practices.
  • Evolve HESTA’s reporting capability, enhancing automation, visualisation, and storytelling.

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive experience in a senior enterprise risk, data, reporting or insights leadership role, ideally within superannuation or financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering Executive and Board-level reporting, with confidence presenting and engaging at Board/Committee level.
  • Strong executive presence and gravitas – able to influence, challenge constructively, and build trust with senior leaders and governance bodies.
  • Proven expertise in enterprise risk frameworks, regulatory environments (APRA, ASIC), and trend-based risk analysis.
  • Deep hands-on experience with GRC platforms (e.g. Protecht, Archer) and the automation of risk reporting processes.
  • Advanced capability in data extraction, transformation, visualisation and storytelling, using tools such as Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint.
  • Experience evolving reporting frameworks, templates and methodologies with a forward-looking, strategic lens.
  • A collaborative, curious, improvement-focused mindset, with interest in innovation, analytics and emerging technologies.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, risk, data analytics, data science or a related discipline.

Ready to bring your enterprise risk, data and insights expertise to a role with real purpose? We’d love to hear from you – Apply now.
