The ERP Director oversees the County’s Enterprise Resource Planning product suite (SAP) and the use of ERP technology for Sedgwick County. This role is responsible for applications that manage core financial transactions and reporting, inventory management, and enterprise analytical reporting. This position manages relationships with outside vendors, oversees the ERP team, and works with business partners throughout the organization to enhance the functionality of ERP and reporting applications.

Oversee the ERP department.

  • Set departmental goals, timelines, and priorities of work.
  • Supervise and evaluate staff and supply resources to teams when need and opportunity exist.
  • Establish business practices that embrace County values and support the County’s strategic plan.
  • Ensure licensing compliance under SAP authority.
  • Manage, negotiate, and coordinate all ERP related contracts, agreements, and statements of work.
  • Manage and plan all budget related processes for the ERP department.
  • Provide education about and promote all ERP team services across the County.

Ensure organizational SAP business processes are properly maintained and that new functionality is effectively implemented.

  • Ensure large projects are clearly defined with milestones, tasks, timelines, and budgets.
  • Manage projects using established and consistent IT procedures.
  • Ensure projects are well structured and organized, while following County’s Management Model.
  • Regularly connect with stakeholders to keep engaged and active in the project process.
  • Manage an effective quality control process prior to releasing any changes to production systems.
  • Regularly review status of projects with staff and stakeholders to properly steer and prioritize projects.

Oversee and administer enterprise budget development tools/systems and enterprise analytics systems.

  • Supply County leaders, division directors, and department heads the information needed to make data-driven decisions.
  • Support budget office staff, systems, and processes throughout the year for the development and publishing of the annual county budget.
  • Promote and supply analytics to the organization, and work with departmental staff to fully understand, build, and deliver automated reporting and dashboards.
  • Meet with functional and technical staff throughout the organization to understand their analytical processes and reporting.
  • Supply necessary interfaces, tools, and training to business analysts throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus 12 years’ experience in information technology. Eight (8) years of experience supporting ERP systems, including four (4) years of ERP supervisory experience. Experience leading at least one large-scale ERP implementation.

Preferred Qualifications: Eight (8) years of experience supporting SAP ERP systems, including six (6) years of ERP supervisory responsibilities. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field, SAP Certified Application Associate.
