Enterprise Resilience Analyst



The Enterprise Resilience Analyst plays a key role in Southern Company’s Enterprise Resilience Program, supporting business continuity, crisis management, governance, and resilience technologies. This role helps ensure the organization is prepared to respond to and recover from disruptive events by developing and supporting crisis management processes, business continuity planning, and enterprise‑wide preparedness initiatives.

The analyst leverages department-owned technologies and collaborates with stakeholders across all subsidiaries to advance program maturity. This position requires an innovative, solutions‑oriented approach and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. The role follows a flexible hybrid schedule averaging four days in office per week.

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate exercises to test emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity plans.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in exercise design, crisis management, and business continuity practices.
  • Create and deliver training for employees at all levels.
  • Support Enterprise Resilience Coordinators and Crisis Managers in enhancing response capabilities.
  • Leverage resilience technologies, including AlertMedia, Archer, and Microsoft-based tools (SharePoint, Power Platform).
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and testing of business continuity plans for critical functions.
  • Participate in business continuity exercises and prepare after-action reports.
  • Use data to create and improve program metrics and reporting.
  • Coordinate with partners and key stakeholders to advance business continuity and preparedness initiatives.
  • Provide support to department leadership during enterprise-level incidents.
  • Act as a change agent to drive program advancement and alignment with strategy.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or related certification a plus.
  • 1–3 years of experience in business continuity, crisis management, or relevant technical/business systems roles preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience engaging all organizational levels, including executives.
  • Knowledge of continuity planning, crisis management, risk mitigation, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate problem‑solving sessions and table‑top exercises.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
  • Ability to make timely decisions, including under pressure.
  • Technical aptitude with ability to learn and support business-owned systems (e.g., mass notification, business continuity planning platforms, SharePoint, Power Platform).
  • Innovative, adaptable, and solutions‑driven with strong critical‑thinking skills.
  • Effective team collaborator, including in matrixed or cross‑functional environments.
  • Analytical skills with interest in learning modern data visualization methods.
  • Self‑starter able to balance multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Occasional after‑hours or on‑call support required.
  • Basic energy/utility knowledge preferred.
