Job Description

The Enterprise Reliability Specialist – 2 works as part of a highly skilled MES or Corporate team to identify, scope, organize, and lead continuous improvement activities focused on asset reliability and reliability processes at all Pella Corporation manufacturing locations. This position will identify root causes and both guide and complete the repair of electrical and mechanical problems within the scope of assigned projects. This position requires proficiency in Thrive, Oracle MRO, Microsoft, Predictive technologies and reliability problem solving. This position will handle a variety of tasks based on business necessity. This position will be expected to coach, mentor, and develop reliability professionals across the organization and has a high level of responsibility and expectation of influencing to improve asset reliability.

PELLA CORPORATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency

  • Work in a team environment with the ability to communicate in a concise, polite, and respectful manner.

ENVIRONMENT:

  • Noise level requires hearing protection in designated areas.
  • Majority of work performed in office setting.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures.

  • Flexibility to travel: 25% or Greater.
  • Able to work with and around moving equipment and machines.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Coaching and development of reliability team members in the processes of implementing and optimizing PMs, TPMs, and PDMs.
  • Monitors and captures standard work order information related to asset reliability, and coaches reliability team members for improvement where and when needed.
  • Utilize KPIs (Asset Availability, Mean Time Between Failure, PM on time completion, etc) and work order data such as occurrence types, predictive, downtime, parts issued, and reason codes to notify reliability professionals and leadership of improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for tracking metrics at the enterprise and site level and maintain the enterprise Computerized Maintenance Management System including ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Support and provide direction on electrical and mechanical problems in assigned areas.
  • Proficient working knowledge of equipment, mechanical drives systems, electrical/hydraulic systems, and machine controls.
  • Organize and lead Reliability Meetings as needed and develop other reliability professions to do the same at their respective site(s).
  • Will be involved with setting up and helping to establish plant’s maintenance processes, predictive processes, and equipment reliability focus.
  • Identify, organize, and lead CI teams, focused on Reliability and scale across multiple sites.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Lead or participate on Kaizen events.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Manufacturing related experience preferred
  • Technical trades experience required and/or 2-year tech degree or equivalent.

  • Time management - Self-starter with minimal supervision requirement; able to work independently; ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift up to 60 lbs. at waist level and up to 30 lbs. at shoulder level up to an occasional basis when moving products.
  • Push or pull with up to 70 lbs. of force up to an occasional basis when moving products.
  • Generate up to 65 lbs. of grip strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products.
  • Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products.
  • Display average coordination with both hands up to a continuous basis while performing job tasks.
  • Perform elevated work up to an occasional basis when handling products.
  • Stoop, kneel or squat up to an occasional basis when handling products.
  • Reach forward and to the side up to a frequent basis when handling products.
  • Stand up to a continuous basis and walk up to a frequent basis during the course of each shift.
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per days
