Summary
The Enterprise Program Manager drives the development, launch, and execution of new enterprise initiatives, focusing on building future‑state operational capabilities rather than maintaining legacy processes or systems. This role identifies opportunities for modernization, designs innovative solutions, and leads cross‑functional teams through the full lifecycle of strategic projects that enhance efficiency, scalability, and member experience.
The Enterprise Program Manager ensures new programs and processes are introduced with rigor, clarity, and strong operational alignment—accelerating organizational transformation and strengthening UCU’s ability to deliver exceptional value to its member‑owners.
Location
We are passionate about attracting great talent to our team, so this position will be a remote arrangement, with occasional (<5%) travel required to meet with vendors or to attend meetings or events at the Credit Union Headquarters in Los Angeles.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Enterprise Program & New Initiative Leadership
- Leads the design, scoping, and execution of new enterprise initiatives, ensuring clear goals, timelines, and success metrics.
- Partners with executives to develop business cases and launch new programs aligned with UCU’s strategic roadmap.
- Prioritizes and advances initiatives that deliver the greatest strategic, operational, or member-impact value.
- Ensures new projects are delivered with speed, operational readiness, and strong cross‑functional alignment.
Operational Leadership & Business–IT Integration
- Translates new business needs into actionable technical and workflow requirements for IT and vendor teams.
- Guides solution design for new systems, new integrations, and new operational models.
- Works closely with IT and operational leaders to ensure new solutions are adopted effectively and sustainably.
- Minimizes focus on day‑to‑day maintenance, directing efforts toward innovation and forward‑looking solutions.
Process Innovation & Operational Excellence
- Leads process redesign efforts to support new capabilities, ensuring workflows are modern, scalable, and efficient.
- Conducts current‑state vs. future‑state analysis to support new initiatives and operational transformation.
New Systems, Data, and Operational Integration
- Oversees planning, testing, and rollout of new systems, enhancements, and enterprise platform changes.
- Leads user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate new capabilities and ensure operational alignment.
- Ensures data requirements for new initiatives are clearly defined, accurate, and integrated into reporting.
- Partners with Data, IT, and vendors to ensure new technology solutions deliver measurable value.
Project Governance & Standards
- Establishes repeatable frameworks and standardized approaches for launching new initiatives.
- Ensures project documentation emphasizes future‑state design, new workflow creation, and transformation outcomes.
- Coaches teams on execution discipline, governance, and adoption best practices.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Change Leadership
- Collaborates with business units to prepare teams for new systems, processes, and operational expectations.
- Manages communication strategies that highlight initiative goals, benefits, and key milestones.
- Drives organizational alignment, ensuring all operational areas are ready for upcoming changes.
- Facilitates change management plans that support adoption, readiness, and long‑term sustainability.
Strategic Resource Planning & Risk Mitigation
- Allocates resources to new initiatives and ensures capability gaps are identified and addressed.
- Identifies risks associated with new implementations, ensuring proactive mitigation and contingency planning.
- Minimizes operational disruption during change by sequencing and coordinating deployments effectively.

Other Duties as Assigned
- Leads enterprise projects tied to modernization, transformation, and strategic growth.
- Stays current on financial services innovation, technology trends, and operational best practices.

QualificationsKnowledge & Skills
Education / Certification
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related professional experience required.
- PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar operational excellence certifications preferred.
Required Knowledge
- Strong understanding of business operations, process engineering, and organizational systems.
- Expertise in launching new initiatives, implementing new processes, and deploying new systems.
- Knowledge of operational excellence methodologies, project management, and change management.

Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional ability to lead new initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Strong leader with operational discipline, problem‑solving rigor, and analytical precision.
- Excellent communicator capable of translating between technical and operational audiences.
- Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities with urgency and accuracy.
- Proficient in project, workflow, and enterprise systems supporting new initiatives.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, innovate within constraints, and proactively drive operational improvements.
- Ability to work with minimal direction while maintaining strong alignment with cross‑functional teams and organizational objectives.

Physical Requirements
If based remotely, may be required to travel to the UCU HQ in Los Angeles and to other UCU locations, as required to meet the needs of the role and the business, so must be able to travel and move within buildings to perform both sedentary and active work (standing and presenting, attending functions) work requiring occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including a computer, telephone, copier, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for extended periods daily. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular reliable, and timely attendance that aligns with the pacific time zone.
Working Conditions
If working onsite, must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with some noise. If working remotely from a home office, must be able to work in a separate, quiet area, for extended periods on a computer.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
