Job Description

About Plum

Plum is an employee insurance and health benefits platform focused on making health insurance simple, accessible and inclusive for modern organizations. Healthcare in India is seeing a phenomenal shift with inflation in healthcare costs 3x that of general inflation. A majority of Indians are unable to afford health insurance on their own; and so as many as 600mn Indians will likely have to depend on employer-sponsored insurance. Plum is on a mission to provide the highest quality insurance and healthcare to 10 million lives by FY2030, through companies that care. Plum is backed by Tiger Global and Peak XV Partners.

About the role

Plum has strong product/market fit and is scaling fast. We're looking for an Enterprise Sales Consultant to own and close deals with India's largest employers, meaning organisations with 1,000+ employees. This is a full-cycle closing role. Our BDR team sources leads and sets up qualified meetings, and you take it from there: running discovery, building the business case, working the stakeholders, and closing.

We won't pretend it's easy. Enterprise cycles are long and multi-threaded, and you'll run several at once while keeping every deal moving. If you're a strategic closer who likes owning the number, this is for you.

P.S. This is a quota-carrying role.

What you'll do

  • Own the sales cycle end to end, from a BDR-qualified meeting to close

  • Run consultative, value-led conversations with HR, Finance, and CXO stakeholders at 1,000+ employee organisations

  • Manage your own pipeline and forecast it accurately

  • Build the business case and work complex, multi-stakeholder buying decisions

  • Partner closely with BDR, and marketing to sharpen lead quality and deal strategy

  • Become a real expert in insurance, employee benefits, and Plum's product suite

What we're looking for

Read each statement below and rate yourself honestly, 1 to 5. The best people in this role would confidently claim a 4 or 5 on almost all of them. If that's you, we should talk.

  1. You carry a number and you beat it. Over the last three or four years you've owned a quota and finished at or above 100% in most of them. You can talk through the years you missed as clearly as the ones you crushed.

  2. You close, you don't just influence. You've personally owned deals from first meeting to signed contract, without handing them to someone senior at the hard part. You know your own win rate and average deal size without checking.

  3. You sell to a buying committee, not a person. In enterprise deals you map every stakeholder (economic buyer, champion, blockers) and build the case for each. You've walked into a room of five-plus people and left with the deal moving forward.

  4. You hold your own with a CXO. A CHRO or CFO takes you seriously because you talk about their business, not your features. You've changed a senior leader's mind in a live conversation.

  5. Your discovery is sharp, not a demo in disguise. You uncover the real problem, quantify what it costs, and tie it to a decision timeline. By the time you present, the customer already knows why they need you.

  6. You make the complex feel simple. You can explain a dense product, whether it's insurance, benefits, or anything else, in a way a busy executive instantly gets, in a meeting, on a call, or in three lines of email.

  7. Your forecast is trusted. Your manager doesn't discount your commits, because your pipeline is clean and your calls are accurate. You know which deals will close this quarter and, more importantly, which won't.

  8. You move fast and own the outcome. You don't wait to be told what's next on a deal. When priorities shift week to week, you re-prioritise without dropping balls, and you take the loss personally when one slips.
