Join us as a Enterprise Operations Controls Lead, Director

  • If you have a risk management or regulatory background and experience in leading teams to succeed within a financial institution, this could be the ideal role for you
  • You’ll partner with the business and Risk function to identify, assess and manage the risks within the agreed risk appetite, using our risk framework to inspire a team of business and customer control partners, and make sure that the team objectives are achieved
  • Hone your leadership skills in this high profile and varied role, where you’ll take a senior position in leading Controls activity for the India Hub, Supply Chain Services, Property, Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), DX COO, and Open Innovation This role will also sit on the India Leadership Committee
  • We're offering the role at director level

What you'll do

You’ll have an opportunity to make a vital contribution to driving a generative culture of risk awareness and recommend solutions to operations’ risk issues within the businesses. You’ll strengthen the level of ownership within the business, identifying and calling out areas of weakness and sharing best practices.

We’ll look to you to drive a robust risk governance framework in line with the Enterprise Wide Risk Framework, as well as delivering relevant risk activity to build credible and realistic plans to move and sustain a control environment certification rating within risk appetite.

Day-to-day, you’ll be:

  • Making sure the business has appropriate processes, procedures, controls, training materials and record keeping in place, ensuring compliance with its legal and regulatory obligations across the different jurisdictions in which it operates
  • Providing expertise in risk and control oversight, enabling first point of contact resolution of queries from the business
  • Leading divisional stakeholder relationships to support the timely, effective and efficient delivery of all issues, projects and initiatives
  • Leading the wider team in the oversight of the risk framework across the business
  • Coaching and developing the team using leadership tools and learning, working towards being a high performing team determined to make risk simpler for all

The skills you'll need

As well as excellent leadership qualities, you’ll need knowledge of the relevant law, regulations and practice including our privacy policy and requirements. You’ll also need good knowledge of our activities and products and the commercial environment within which we operate.

On top of this, you’ll bring:

  • A good track record of stakeholder management
  • The ability to mobilise support to make sure business objectives are met
  • Experience of supporting and influencing executive and senior management across the organisation
  • A proven ability to think strategically and to influence key stakeholders
  • Experience of producing and presenting recommendation papers for senior audiences
