Job Description

Big Ass Who?

We didn’t set out to start a fan company. We set out to solve a problem—workplace discomfort. (Sorry, HR, not your kind.) Facilities become furnaces during the summer, but businesses still expect peak performance and productivity. Without providing the basic human right of comfort, that’s just asinine. Seeing how overhead fans cooled California dairy cows begged a massive question for our founder. “Can a fan be made to revolutionize comfort for people?” he uttered.

That’s when the HVLS Fan Company was born—with the first-ever patented high-volume, low-speed fan. But that name? BOR-ing. And customers knew it. We kept getting calls asking, “Are you the guys who make those big ass fans?” Hell yeah, we are. And Big Ass Fans was born, complete with our own cheeky donkey mascot, Fanny. Today, we don’t just move air, we transform experiences. Big Ass Fans deliver comfort where it counts. We build every product like lives depend on it. Because, turns out, they do.

Our success is a result of the Big Ass Fans team’s innovation. Are you seeking an opportunity to work with extraordinary people with an entrepreneurial spirit? Do you have something that sets you apart from the rest? With a bias for action, we want you to #livelifebigass and bring the next great BAF product to market. From our customers to our employees, we are passionate about what we can accomplish together. The successful candidate will bring passion, energy, and a “get it done” mentality to BAF and the industrial business and contribute in a meaningful way to realize the company’s full potential in the market.

  • Establish and maintain open customer communication in conjunction with sales.
  • Schedule installation dates by coordinating with subcontractors and customers based on availability and preferred timeframes.
  • Provide sales with install price quotes for jobs needing labor/material outside normal scope of work. Facilitate the setup of installer site visits as needed.
  • Work with all BAF departments in a professional and friendly manner to resolve any technical issues with installations.
  • Manage project scope by ensuring any changes and change orders are documented and approved by customers.
  • Review completed installations for accuracy to be sure required procedures and methods were followed.
  • Process and manage installer invoices and paperwork with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work on special projects related to project services as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required, general electrical and/or mechanical experience a plus, especially contracting

Big Ass Fans

About Big Ass Fans

In 1999, Big Ass Fans was born. Kind of. Then called the HVLS Fan Co. (that’s High Volume, Low Speed), we first made our mark selling massive ceiling fans. The fans kept large spaces that lacked air conditioning, such as factories and dairy barns, feeling cool and comfortable by moving large volumes of air at a low speed. In 2001, we finally took the hint when customers kept calling and asking if we made “those big-ass fans” and changed our name for good. This was just the beginning.

As our business grew, so did our customers’ needs. After noting that several customers were purchasing Big Ass Fans for their homes, we decided to develop a line of upgraded residential fans. Our line of silent, stylish Haiku fans blew away ENERGY STAR® ratings and won awards worldwide. Then we took it a step further by automating personal comfort and adding SenseME technology to our residential fans. Add in our line of evaporative coolers and we have comfort covered from top-to-bottom and everywhere in between.

Our commitment to our customers remains our top priority. We’ve backed everything with serious research, intensive engineering, and an almost obsessive drive to innovate and improve. Our headquarters is located in Lexington, Ky., and we offer rewarding careers throughout the United States and in our international offices in Australia, Canada and Singapore. From our team of engineers working to perfect the science of air movement in our state-of-the-art R&D lab to our quirky marketing mavericks, the desire to innovate has always drawn top talent to Big Ass Fans. Whether you’re a sales representative, IT guru, production specialist or an overall go-getter, it’s a dynamic place to work.
