About Us | Mō Mātou

Canon is a global leader in imaging solutions, trusted by millions for innovation and quality. In Australia and New Zealand, we’re proud to deliver products and services that help people connect, communicate, and achieve more every day. When you join Canon New Zealand you’ll experience a supportive culture that values your contribution and empowers you to grow. We’re committed to helping you develop your career and turn your goals into reality, while playing an integral role in our success across the region.

A bout the Role | Mō te Tūranga

We're looking for an ambitious Enterprise & Government sales professional to join our Wellington team and drive growth through both new customer acquisition and the expansion of existing customer relationships.

This is a strategic business development and account management role responsible for identifying, qualifying, and securing new customers while growing Canon's presence within existing accounts. Success in this role comes from balancing proactive prospecting, pipeline generation, and complex sales execution with the development of trusted long-term customer relationships.

You'll work across Enterprise and Government organisations, taking ownership of opportunities from prospecting and discovery through to solution design, contract negotiation, implementation, renewal, and growth. You'll help organisations solve business challenges through Canon's broad portfolio of technology, managed services, information management, and workplace solutions.

At Canon, we believe every customer matters. While you'll engage with some of New Zealand's largest organisations and government agencies, we don't measure success solely by the size of an account. We value long-term partnerships and believe every customer deserves the same commitment, expertise, and exceptional experience.

Scope of the role includes:

  • Develop and execute territory growth plans focused on acquiring new Enterprise and Government customers.
  • Proactively prospect, network, and build a pipeline of qualified new business opportunities.
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new customer relationships through strategic sales engagement.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of Enterprise and Government customers.
  • Develop account growth plans that increase customer value, retention, and profitability.
  • Build relationships with senior executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, and procurement teams.
  • Lead complex sales opportunities from discovery through to negotiation, close, and implementation.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, tenders, and RFP responses.
  • Collaborate with Canon specialists and delivery teams to develop customer-centric solutions.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and activity tracking through Salesforce.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitive activity, and emerging customer challenges.

About you | Mōu

You're a commercially astute sales professional who thrives on finding opportunities, building relationships, and delivering results.

You are equally passionate about opening new doors and growing existing customer relationships. You enjoy the challenge of developing new opportunities from prospecting through to closure and are motivated by building a strong pipeline of future business. At the same time, you understand the value of nurturing long-term partnerships and identifying opportunities to expand Canon's footprint within existing accounts.

You enjoy engaging with senior stakeholders, navigating complex organisations, and developing solutions that create genuine business value. Most importantly, you're proactive, driven, and focused on delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

Key skills and experience include:

  • Demonstrated success in generating new business within Enterprise, Government, ICT, Technology, Managed Services, or similar B2B environments.
  • Proven experience managing and growing strategic customer relationships.
  • A strong track record of achieving sales targets within complex and competitive markets.
  • Experience building and managing a healthy pipeline through proactive prospecting and business development activity.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior executives and decision-makers.
  • Experience managing complex sales opportunities, tenders, and procurement processes.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform.
  • Resilience, self-motivation, and a growth mindset.

Experience within technology, managed services, software, information management, print, digital transformation, or broader ICT environments would be advantageous. However, we're equally interested in high-performing sales professionals who can demonstrate transferable experience, curiosity, and a consultative approach to customer engagement.

And because culture matters, you'll bring a positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and a healthy sense of humour.

What’s in it for you | He Aha kei roto mōu
