About the Information Service and Technology (IST) Department: Marin County IST connects the people of Marin with their government by providing innovative products and services tailored to the needs of our departments and communities accessible anytime, anywhere. We provide centralized IT services to County departments across four key areas: Business Solutions Delivery, Enterprise Platforms & Services, Information Security & Compliance, and IT Governance & Operations.

The Department of Information Services and Technology is recruiting for one (1) full-time vacancy for an Enterprise GIS Analyst (County Classification: Advanced Systems Engineer). This position plays a key role in advancing the County’s Enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) and ensuring spatial data is accessible, reliable, and effectively used across County departments. The Analyst will design, develop, implement, and maintain GIS solutions, spatial data workflows, and data products, including dashboards, maps, and visualizations that support analysis and informed decision-making. They will also use scripting and automation to streamline data intake, transformation, integration, and maintenance, helping create efficient and sustainable GIS data pipelines.
Working under minimum supervision of the Team Lead, the Analyst will perform the following:
As part of the dynamic Innovative Digital Solutions division, this individual will work with other IST personnel, as well as Subject Matter Experts from other County departments and jurisdictions connected to MarinMap, to collect requirements and design and develop GIS and analytics solutions.
