About the Role
Nexperia’s Digital Strategy, Architecture & AI function is a single global practice spanning Nijmegen, Hamburg, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Bangalore — and what sets us apart is that we design and ship. Our architects prototype the patterns they define and pair directly with engineers on first implementations.
Nexperia’s 2026–2030 strategy treats applications as a portfolio to be continuously renewed, not a project list — and this role gives that portfolio an architectural owner.
You'll set the target architecture for Nexperia’s global enterprise application landscape — finance, supply chain, sales and marketing, HR and engineering, and the intersections with manufacturing — and drive the modernization, rationalization, and build-versus-buy decisions that shape the post-2027 estate.
This is a hands-on senior role: you design and you build. Based in Bangalore, you'll sit close to where the landscape runs while setting standards used globally. The decisions made over the next 18 months — including the ECC to S/4HANA transition — will define the estate through 2030.
What You Will Do
Own the application target architecture — modernization verdicts, lifecycle states, integration patterns, and retirement plans for end-of-life applications
Stay close to delivery — prototype patterns, run build-versus-buy spikes, and act as the architectural voice within the Application Center of Enablement
Lead post-2026 platform decisions — ECC to S/4HANA, platform consolidation, SaaS rationalization, and M&A integration, translated into a sequenced roadmap
Govern SAP Clean Core — set the extension and customization standards that keep the S/4HANA core upgradable
Govern SaaS end-to-end — compliance, exit paths, vendor risk, and shadow IT — while translating NIS2, GDPR, EU AI Act, and CSDDD into application-level controls
Partner across architecture functions — working with Data, AI & Integration and Manufacturing architects at the ERP, MES, and PLM intersection points
What success looks like in your first 12 months:
An adopted target architecture — lifecycle states and modernization verdicts translated into a roadmap that platform engineers are actively shipping against
Clear direction on the ECC to S/4HANA trajectory, Clean Core standards in force, and SaaS governance operational
Visibly less complexity — retirement plans agreed for end-of-life applications
What You Will Need
Meet most, but not all, of these? We still encourage you to apply.
Substantial enterprise IT experience with deep expertise in enterprise or domain architecture, and portfolio architecture at scale
Fluency across major application domains, with large-scale ERP modernization experience — ideally ECC to S/4HANA under Clean Core principles
Working command of application modernization frameworks, lifecycle-driven portfolio management, and SaaS governance
A builder mindset — you prototype, run spikes, and ship reference implementations, not just diagrams
The ability to influence at senior level through clear reasoning and trade-offs, favoring enablement over gatekeeping
Nice to Have
Semiconductor or manufacturing IT exposure
Awareness of AI's impact on enterprise applications
Experience with EA tooling; TOGAF or IASA CITA certification
Fluent English
