Job Description

You will drive robust ingestion capabilities for structured data (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2) and unstructured data (Video, Audio, PDF, PPT). You will also act as the product leader for the EDP Console, an amalgamation of our data products (Data Catalog, Lightspeed, Semantic Layer Hub, Ask EDP, Cost Optimization, and more) into a single pane of glass.

Crucially, you will leverage our unstructured ingestion capabilities to build and scale the Vision Intelligence Platform By unifying fragmented vision systems and developing advanced models, you will tackle critical business challenges—specifically automating manual processes to identify recall populations, enabling faster diagnosis, and proactively addressing the growing volume of Recalls and Field Service Actions (FSAs).

As a torchbearer for modern product management, you will also champion AI-driven PM practices across your organization, upskilling your team to leverage Generative AI and advanced tools to accelerate product discovery, delivery, and user feedback analysis.

What You’ll Do

Lead with Modern, AI-Driven Product Management

• Act as the torchbearer for your team by embedding AI into daily product management workflows (e.g., utilizing LLMs to accelerate the creation of PRDs, user stories, and market research).

• Leverage AI-powered analytics, sentiment analysis, and telemetry to anticipate user needs, automate feedback loops, and prioritize the platform roadmap.

• Mentor, coach, and upskill a team of product managers, fostering a culture of rapid prototyping, AI-assisted decision-making, and continuous learning.

Lead the Vision Intelligence Platform

• Define the product strategy and model development for the Vision Intelligence Platform, seizing the opportunity to unify fragmented vision systems across manufacturing and engineering.

• Develop AI/ML-driven data products to replace manual, inefficient processes used for identifying recall and Field Service Action (FSA) populations.

• Deploy models that enable faster diagnosis, automated quality checks, and real-time anomaly detection to proactively mitigate the growing volume of Recalls and FSAs.

Build and Scale Homegrown Data Ingestion

Structured Data: Lead the development of scalable ingestion capabilities connecting to enterprise relational databases, including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and DB2.

Unstructured Data: Pioneer ingestion pathways for diverse formats—such as Video, Audio, PDFs, and Presentations (PPT)—serving as the foundational data pipeline for the Vision Intelligence Platform and other LLM applications.

• Partner with engineering to ensure ingestion pipelines are highly performant, secure, and compliant with enterprise governance standards.

Develop the EDP Console (The Unified Gateway)

Architect the amalgamation of Ford's data products into a single, intuitive EDP Console, acting as the "CEO of the product" for this unified portal.

• Integrate core capabilities including Data Catalog, Metadata Management, and Data Quality to ensure users can easily discover and trust their data.

• Embed advanced platform features like Lightspeed, Semantic Layer Hub, and Ask EDP to accelerate data access, contextual understanding, and self-service analytics.

• Develop comprehensive Platform Analytics dashboards within the console to track user adoption, feature relevancy, and system health.

• Drive FinOps and Cost Optimization features directly into the console, giving teams visibility and control over their compute and storage footprints.

Drive Operational Excellence and Innovation

Ensure seamless integration between the ingestion layer, vision models, and downstream analytics and governance protocols.

• Implement best practices for data lifecycle management, ensuring Ford’s diverse data assets are standardized and immediately usable.

• Partner with Data Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure all ingested data adheres to industry standards and global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA).

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in data product management, platform engineering, or enterprise data architecture, with a proven track record of managing direct reports.

Modern PM & AI Skills: Demonstrated experience using AI-powered product management tools (e.g., Generative AI for drafting PRDs, AI-driven backlog grooming, automated user feedback analysis) and a passion for upskilling teams in these technologies.

• Proven track record of managing Data Ingestion platforms, unified developer/data consoles, or AI/ML model deployment.

• Experience with Computer Vision use cases, anomaly detection models, or manufacturing/quality systems is highly preferred.

• Deep understanding of structured databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2) and experience building pipelines for unstructured data (Video, Audio, PDF, Document processing).

• Experience integrating diverse data products (Data Catalogs, Semantic Layers, Data Quality tools) into a unified user interface.

• Strong knowledge of FinOps, cloud cost optimization, and platform analytics (measuring adoption, usage, and relevancy).

• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align business, engineering, and quality/governance teams.
