Job Description

WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, with a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership guiding our organisation's 2030 Strategy. We're embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation that will enable us to continue making a positive difference to people's lives and keep Queenslanders working.

Reporting to the Head of Data, the Enterprise Data Manager is accountable for defining and operationalising WorkCover Queensland's enterprise data governance and management approach - the frameworks, policies, standards, and controls that make data trusted, secure, and fit for purpose. Leading the Data Office, you'll partner with business areas and data domain functions to lift data maturity, clarify ownership and stewardship accountabilities, and enable confident, data-driven decision making that supports regulatory, operational, and strategic outcomes.

  • Define, embed, and continuously mature the enterprise data governance framework, including policies, standards, controls, and clear data ownership and stewardship models across the organisation
  • Uplift core data management capabilities — data quality, metadata, lineage, and lifecycle management — so data is discoverable, reusable, and fit for use in operations, analytics, and AI
  • Ensure data practices comply with statutory, regulatory, privacy, and security obligations, embedding privacy-by-design principles and proactively managing data-related risks
  • Lead, resource, and develop the Data Office team, fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture with clear expectations and visible alignment to WorkCover Queensland's values

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise data governance or data management functions, including framework design and operationalisation
  • Strong knowledge of data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and lifecycle principles
  • Proven ability to establish data ownership and stewardship models within complex organisations
  • Experience ensuring compliance with privacy, regulatory, and security obligations in a data context
  • Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving data maturity across business domains
  • People leadership experience, with the ability to build capability and sustain team performance

At WorkCover, we deliver with heart, own our outcomes, work best together and stay open to what's possible - and we're looking for people who share these values. Working in a collaborative team environment within a supportive and engaged organisation, you'll enjoy a hybrid work model, access to personalised learning and development opportunities and the holistic support of our health and wellbeing program. We offer industry-competitive salaries, a generous superannuation scheme (including co-contribution) and study assistance.
