Job Description

Join OneAdvanced

The Enterprise Data Lead owns the quality, governance and flow of data across OneAdvanced's internal business systems: Oracle NetSuite (ERP), Salesforce (CRM), ServiceNow (Services), Boomi (integration), with OpenAir, Anaplan and the Snowflake data lake in the wider landscape. Sitting within Core Business Systems role makes sure that master, foundational and operational data is correct at source, flows accurately between systems and lands in the data lake ready for reporting, audit and forecasting. The postholder operationalises the data governance model and process mapping across Commercial (Product to Order), Finance (Order to Cash) and Services (Request to Resolve), is accountable for system of record and field level mappings, and resolves data sync issues at root cause rather than by repeated manual fixes. This is a hands-on leadership role: the successful candidate will have worked inside an organisation running these systems and will understand the downstream business impact of every key data point.

What You Will Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Data governance model: Operationalise and maintain the CBS data governance model across the four data tiers (Master, Foundational, Operational, Data Lake and Reporting), including data ownership, policies, standards and the controls that enforce them.
  • Master Data Management: Run the MDM framework for Corporate/Legal (legal entities, chart of accounts, cost centres, departments, divisions, locations, indirect tax, fixed asset types, suppliers), Customer, People and Product data, through the DWP catalogue create/edit/retire requests, approval flows and ITSM work orders, ensuring every downstream system task is completed before a case closes.
  • Process and data mapping: Own and complete the process to data mapping for Product to Order, Order to Cash and Request to Resolve: data objects, attributes, master system, subscribing systems (Salesforce, ServiceNow, NetSuite, ZAB, OpenAir, Docman) and field configuration rules, working with each Exco and functional process owner.
  • Foundational data and mappings: Maintain system schemas, field definitions and mapping rules, resolving conflicts between systems such as field length, picklist values and data type differences before they cause sync failures.
  • Integration oversight: Lead the integration specialists to monitor, prioritise and optimise Boomi and API data flows; own the integration error queue, triage sync failures between Salesforce, NetSuite and ServiceNow, and drive fixes to root cause.
  • Data quality, cleansing and deduplication: Design and automate audit and validation routines, reconciliations and deduplication for accounts, contacts, addresses, products and pricing, working with data owners to correct data at source.
  • Data lake and reporting: Ensure data feeding the Snowflake data lake is complete, timely and reconciled, supporting Finance, HMRC and audit requirements, and deliver Power BI data quality dashboards and MI for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Data migration and transformation: Plan and deliver end-to-end data migration and transformation for system changes, integrations and acquisitions using SQL, Python, Excel, VBA and Power BI, with documented validation and sign-off.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Act as the data subject matter expert for Commercial, Finance, Services, Engineering, Cyber Security and Product, translating technical issues into business impact and bringing process owners with us on data standards.
  • Team leadership and documentation: Lead, coach and prioritise a small cross-discipline team, favouring automation over manual effort; maintain records of data flows, data models, governance policies, quality protocols and integration processes, and support the architectural landscape.

What You Will Have

Experience:

  • Internal enterprise systems: 7 to 10 years in data engineering, data management or business systems, including substantial time working inside an organisation (not only as an external consultant) on Oracle NetSuite, Salesforce, ServiceNow and Boomi or an equivalent iPaaS.
  • Data points and their implications: Detailed understanding of the core data structures and how they connect: Salesforce accounts, contacts, opportunities, quotes, products and price books; NetSuite customers, subsidiaries, items, sales orders, invoices, credit notes and revenue; ServiceNow accounts, contacts, cases and CMDB or foundation data. Able to explain what breaks downstream when a given field is wrong.
  • Lead to cash process knowledge: Practical experience of quote to order, order to invoice, billing (ideally ZAB or similar subscription billing), renewals, credit control and dunning, and how data moves through each stage.
  • MDM and governance in practice: Has implemented or run an MDM framework with defined system of record, data ownership, approval workflows and change control, ideally via ITSM catalogue requests.
  • Process and data mapping: Has produced data object and attribute maps by process, defining master and subscribing systems and field rules, and used them to drive integration design.
  • Technical skills: Advanced SQL, Python, Excel and VBA for data manipulation and transformation; Power BI for data quality and MI reporting. Snowflake, Anaplan and OpenAir experience is an advantage.

Success Measures

  • Process and data mapping complete: Data objects, attributes, master system and field rules signed off for Product to Order, Order to Cash and Request to Resolve within the first six months, and kept current through change control.
  • Integration health: Reduction in Boomi integration errors and sync failures between Salesforce, NetSuite and ServiceNow, with agreed time to resolve and a falling volume of repeat issues.
  • Master data SLAs: MDM and foundation data requests completed within catalogue service levels (5 to 10 days by type) with all downstream tasks closed and no rework.
  • Data quality: Measurable improvement in completeness, accuracy and duplicate rates for customer, contact, address and product records, tracked on a Power BI data quality dashboard.
  • Reconciliation: Systems reconcile: customer, order, invoice and revenue data aligned across CRM, ERP, billing and the data lake, with exceptions identified and cleared within agreed timescales.
  • Audit and compliance: Clean outcomes on the annual systems audit and Finance or HMRC data requests, with no material findings related to data governance or integrations.
  • Automation: Reduction in manual data fixes and validation effort through automated checks and routines.
  • Stakeholder confidence: Process owners in Commercial, Finance and Services trust and use the data, evidenced by stakeholder feedback and fewer data-related escalations.
  • Team performance: Team delivering against agreed priorities, with documented processes and clear ownership of every integration and data domain.

Capabilities & Behaviours

  • Systems thinking: Sees data end-to-end across processes and systems and anticipates the downstream impact of a change before it is made.
  • Root cause problem solving: Fixes the cause of data and sync issues, not the symptom, and builds controls so issues do not recur.
  • Governance with pragmatism: Sets clear standards and ownership while keeping process proportionate for a small team.
  • Hands-on technical credibility: Comfortable writing SQL, reviewing Boomi processes and scripts and investigating records directly in each system.
  • Automation mindset: Looks first to automate validation, reconciliation and cleansing.
  • Clear communicator: Explains technical data issues in business terms to data-literate and non-technical audiences alike, and influences without authority.
  • Prioritisation under pressure: Balances competing demands from multiple functions and makes transparent trade-offs.
  • Leadership and coaching: Develops the team, delegates effectively and rolls up sleeves when needed.
  • Ownership and accountability: Takes responsibility for data outcomes and follows issues through to closure.
  • Attention to detail: Rigorous with mappings, field rules and documentation.
