Job Description


Synechron is seeking an experienced Data Mart Developer specialized in Cards and Payments data environments. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data marts supporting regulatory, operational, and analytics reporting. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive knowledge of payment transaction workflows, database modeling, and ETL processes to build high-quality, reliable data solutions that support enterprise decision-making and compliance standards.

Software Requirements

Required Software Proficiency:

  • SQL (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) — strong skills in schema design, complex queries, and performance tuning supporting data validation and reconciliation (supporting 4+ years)

  • ETL tools: Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS, Talend, or equivalent — extensive experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable data pipelines supporting large transaction volumes (supporting 4+ years)

  • Data warehousing concepts: star schema, snowflake, SCDs — deep understanding for designing enterprise data marts supporting analytics and compliance

  • Database management and Data Governance tools supporting data quality, lineage, and security (preferred)

Preferred Software Skills:

  • Cloud data platforms such as AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse supporting cloud migration and scalable data warehousing (preferred)

  • Data validation and reconciliation tools supporting enterprise audits and data integrity

Overall Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize data marts supporting client reporting, analytics, and regulatory compliance in enterprise environments

  • Build scalable, high-performance ETL/ELT processes for extracting, transforming, and loading large transaction data supporting payments, securities, and trading systems

  • Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions and schemas

  • Support data migration, schema design, and data validation activities supporting compliance standards such as PCI DSS and industry regulations

  • Implement data governance, lineage, and security standards supporting audit and compliance requirements

  • Monitor data pipelines for performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize for efficiency and scalability

  • Automate data workflows and processes supporting continuous data integration and delivery

  • Maintain detailed documentation of data architecture, workflows, validation procedures, and operational procedures

  • Knowledge supporting migration to cloud data platforms and enterprise data governance practices (preferred)

  • Deep understanding of payment workflows, transaction data, and regulatory data management (preferred)

  • Develop, support, and optimize scalable data marts supporting regulatory reporting, analytics, and data migration

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable data schemas and pipelines

  • Support data migration activities, schema design, validation, and reconciliation processes supporting compliance standards

  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies and pipeline failures, performing root cause analysis and resolution

  • Automate data processing workflows supporting data integration and operational efficiency

  • Monitor data pipeline performance, optimize query and data load processes, and support operational resilience

  • Document data architecture, schemas, validation procedures, and operational support support support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical discipline

  • 4+ years of experience supporting enterprise data environments, data marts, and large-scale data pipelines

  • Certifications in data management, cloud hosting, or enterprise data warehousing are a plus

  • Proven track record supporting high-volume, compliant, enterprise data management systems supporting enterprise growth
