Join us on our journey. Let’s create tomorrow, together, today.

About the role and team:

We are look for a Enterprise Data Architect / Data Strategist, that ideally understands the governance / op models of using externally licensed data within and throughout an organisation, where data provisioning (i.e. contracts), content coverage, and delivery speed (ultra low latency) is paramount. They should understand modern data structures such as the differences between a centralised data lake and a data mesh and can translate how these technical choices impact the business operating model.

They should have a blend of technical and commercial skills/characteristics:

  • Stakeholder Diplomacy: The capacity to manage the inherent tension between the end product users (in this case trading desk) and a potentially standardising CIO function.
  • Decoupled Architecture Design: The technical proficiency to design logical architectures and conceptual data models that are entirely agnostic of the underlying cloud provider, ensuring the outputs remain valid regardless of who ultimately owns the technology stack.
  • Capital Markets Expertise (would suggest this is preferred rather than essential): A profound understanding of the trading lifecycle, allowing them to engage credibly with Quants and Risk Managers regarding the governance of proprietary IP and market feeds.
    • Capital markets is a tough one to find, but perhaps throwing the net wider to Financial Services (IB's etc etc) will help.
Scope of Value
As part of this engagement, you will be responsible for validating and shaping:
  • The Client Strategy: Ensuring it is fit-for-purpose in a complex, real-time environment.
  • The Evolution Roadmap: A clear path from legacy constraints to the "North Star" vision.
  • The Execution Plan: Developing the blueprint for the next phase of work, which this role is intended to help lead or execute.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Data Architect or Data Strategist in complex environments
  • Strong understanding of data governance, operating models, and use of externally sourced/licensed data
  • Expertise in modern data architectures (e.g. data lake vs. data mesh) and how they shape operating models
  • Ability to design decoupled, cloud-agnostic architectures and conceptual data models
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities

What we’ll offer you:

We trust people to do their best work. That means flexibility over rigid rules, impact over activity, and real investment in your growth both professionally and personally. You’ll be part of a supportive, and friendly culture, surrounded by smart, curious people who care deeply about what they do.

We offer flexible working, including hybrid and remote options. Our office hubs are located in Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, London and Bulgaria, with occasional travel to client sites or CreateFuture offices when needed.

We trust you to manage your time balancing collaboration with client time and focused work. What matters is the impact you have, not how busy you look.

Our hiring process

We try to keep our hiring process clear, fair and respectful of your time. We aim to get back to everyone who applies and we will be upfront about where you are in the process.

It usually looks like this:

  • Call with our Talent Acquisition Team
  • Role specific capability interview

Depending on the role, we might also ask you to do a short presentation, a practical or technical task or have a values focused conversation. We will explain what is involved before anything happens.

Inclusion at CreateFuture

We believe diverse teams build better workplaces and better products. We want CreateFuture to be a place where people feel able to be themselves and do their best work.

If you need any adjustments or support during the application process, just. We will do what we can to help.

We look forward to your application!
