Job Description


The Enterprise Communications Specialist is a critical creative communicator on the Enterprise Communications team and will develop and execute a wide variety of communications materials and tactics in support of GuideWell, GuideWell Health and Florida Blue business objectives, including the company's business units and/or functional areas. They will collaborate with colleagues from across the EC communications team, as well as business partners to create and edit materials that contribute to our strategic communications initiatives that have a material business and/or enterprise reputational impact. This position will operate efficiently in a fast-paced, high intensity matrix environment.


Essential Functions:

  • The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.
  • Communications development and quality assurance:
    Develop communications materials, and provide copywriting and editing services across the enterprise on a wide range of topics, including newsletters, direct mail/emails/SMS, digital and social content, sales news articles, provider news articles, brochures or fliers, call scripts, video scripts, talking points, intranet articles, community articles, news releases, executive ghost writing, and complex negotiation materials. Make sure communications are audience-focused, streamlined, easy to understand, and engaging. Ensure communications are executed to a standard of excellence and are accurate, concise, properly positioned, and consistent with other related communications. Make sure communications meet company tone, voice, and style requirements.
  • Project management, oversight, and distribution:
    Collaborate with and project manage communications reviews and approvals with subject matter experts and business partners, manage legal/compliance/privacy/MRT reviews and approvals, translation and digital requests, and interviews members, clinicians, doctors and others for specific communications projects. Ensure appropriate and timely distribution of communications materials by effectively managing deadlines.
  • Collaboration and support:
    Collaborate with communications colleagues to align messaging across audiences and ensure they are tied to our corporate reputation framework and message pillars. Serve on various integrated communications project and initiative teams and collaborate with designers, videographers, social media, communications consultants and Enterprise Communications leaders to develop materials that are creative and high impact.
  • Process improvement and efficiencies:
    Share best practices and recommend process or service improvements to streamline our communications and vehicles in support of the department and the enterprise. Use project management system to document project work and collaborate with others within the tool. Create and/or assist with the development of Job Aids, SOPS, and other process documentation as needed.

Required Work Experience:
5+ years related work experience. Experience Details:
Related Bachelor's degree required Communications, marketing communications, journalism, liberal arts, public relations or related field
Experience executing on multi-audience strategic communications plans and evaluating results
Ability and willingness to perform strategic, managerial and tactical elements of the role
Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills, attention to detail, and a sophisticated design sensibility
Ability to write for internal, external, community, and media communications
Proven ability to write in multiple audience voices, to understand complex concepts, express them simply, and use them in various messaging platforms.
Expert in communications and knowledgeable about emerging trends and industry practices, particularly digital and social communications best practices.
Professional presence, a positive and enthusiastic demeanor, and the ability to build relationships in a highly matrixed environment
Strong project management skills with the ability to execute with speed, accuracy and efficiency
Highly adaptable and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Demonstrated fluency in Associated Press (AP) style and stay well-versed on new writing methods/techniques.

General Physical Demands:

To support your financial wellbeing, we offer competitive pay as well as opportunities for incentive or commission compensation. We also conduct regular annual reviews with pay for performance considerations for base pay increases.

Annualized Salary Range: $84,500 - $137,300

Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $84,500 - $105,600

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
