The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is currently seeking an Enterprise Architecture co-op student/intern for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 work terms (September to April) to provide analytical and modeling support in the implementation of enterprise-wide architecture repository.

We are currently hiring an Enterprise Architect/Business Analyst Co-op Student or Intern to focus on architecture development. In this position, you will contribute to the ongoing Enterprise Architecture program with BCI. This is a great opportunity for you to learn highly sought-after, real-world Enterprise Architecture skills in the investment world. You will be working closely with senior IT and business managers.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

The technology department is responsible for developing technology solutions that contribute to the achievement of BCI’s mission and long-term goals. The department manages the corporation’s business applications and information technology infrastructure, providing support to a large group of financial professionals. The department is also responsible for authoring technology-related directives and conducting disaster recovery planning to minimize risk to the corporation’s delivery of investment services.

The Enterprise Architecture team works with other Technology teams as well as internal client departments and vendors to create, configure, and implement the long-term architectural direction of BCI. This work term will provide you the opportunity to learn from and assist the Enterprise Architecture team in the initiative to introduce an Enterprise Architecture Repository.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Assist in the implementation/data migration of the new enterprise architecture tool at BCI

  • Collaborate with the IT team to configure, test, and deploy the enterprise architecture tool

  • Document implementation processes, technical specifications, and user guides

  • Support the team in conducting architecture impact assessments to evaluate changes and their implications

  • Participate in AI governance activities, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and best practices

  • Contribute to various IT projects, providing technical support and innovative solutions

  • Engage in team meetings and project discussions, offering insights and feedback on ongoing initiatives

  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and industry trends to support project development and decision-making


REQUIRED SKILLS

  • University-level knowledge of related courses

  • A strong knowledge of IT principles and practices

  • Comfortable to work in low-code applications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to document technical processes and create user guides

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

  • A willingness to participate in team meetings and contribute to group projects

  • Eagerness to learn new tools and technologies

  • Analytical problem-solving and data modelling experience

  • Organizational skills to support the team initiatives and keep projects moving

  • Competitive pay: $2,330.00 gross bi-weekly or $2,155.00 gross bi-weekly + vacation leave paid based on 6% of salary ($2,330.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) a graduate degree and $2,155.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate)

  • Travel: if coming to Victoria for this work term, BCI will provide a fixed-rate travel allowance based on your location

  • Spend your off hours exploring beautiful Victoria and Vancouver Island

  • All co-ops/internships will need to be completed in person at our Victoria office with the option to work one day per week from home. Please note, some positions are not eligible for hybrid work.
