Job Description

Leidos Office of the Chief Information Officer, reporting through the Digital sector, is seeking a Domain Architect for the Enterprise Applications team.

We’re looking for an enterprise architect to build a clear picture of how our enterprise applications work together, and to shape where they go next. You’ll focus the technologies and systems that implement the business processes that run our company end to end, including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, payroll, invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. These run across platforms such as Deltek Costpoint, Workday, and our contract lifecycle management system.

You’ll start by reviewing our current application landscape from an enterprise perspective, then develop a visual roadmap that shows where the portfolio should go and why. That roadmap will feed directly into our planning and investment decisions. You’ll also review major initiatives and advise on application considerations in merger and acquisition activity.

You’ll work with the platform owners, many of them directors and architects of their own environments, to help them make architectural decisions in the context of the whole. This is a director level role reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications.

Location: This position is able to work remotely from any U.S. based location.

Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to qualify for consideration.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess our current application landscape and build and maintain a roadmap that guides technology investment, weighing proposed software, tools, and enhancements against business strategy and long-term cost of ownership. This includes support for evaluating future ERP options.
  • Review new technology initiatives early with peer enterprise architects from other domains, evaluating scope and technical feasibility across enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, HCM) to ensure architectural decisions consider impacts across data, platform, integration, and security layers.
  • Review implementation plans and solution designs from platform owners on larger initiatives to identify technical risks, timeline bottlenecks, and scope creep, and to confirm alignment with architecture standards and expected business outcomes.
  • Partner with project teams during implementation so delivered systems meet their intended outcomes on schedule.
  • Provide architectural recommendations that align back-office applications with compliance, reporting, and government contracting requirements.
  • Advise on application considerations in merger and acquisition activity, particularly ERP, HCM, payroll, and contract systems.
  • Assess tools, cloud applications, and vendor capabilities for technical fit within our enterprise applications ecosystem.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for how our systems connect to the ERP, bridging gaps between platform teams and offering informal guidance on architectural decisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 17+ years or Master's degree and 15+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture or related IT roles.
  • Demonstrated experience as a technologist with a strong grasp of end-to-end business processes (e.g., procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, AR/AP) and the ability to develop architecture plans without direct ownership of the applications.
  • Experience as a technical lead on large back-office application initiatives (ERP, HCM, or similar).
  • Experience assessing an application portfolio or major project proposal for technical risks and opportunities.
  • Experience using an application roadmap to align technology investments with business needs in Finance, HR, or Procurement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including briefing senior leaders and translating between technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to build consensus and influence peers and stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. U.S. citizenship required. An active clearance is not required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in a business or technology field.
  • Enterprise architecture certification (e.g., TOGAF) or experience in an enterprise architecture organization.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Workday, or comparable ERP and HCM platforms.
  • Experience supporting M&A due diligence or integration.
  • Experience developing or supporting technology for federal contractors, including DFARS, CAS, SOX, and internal audit requirements.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and engineering systems such as Solumina (MES) or Windchill (PLM).
