Job Description

Vault Cloud is an Australian sovereign cloud provider with 14 years of experience delivering secure, scalable and high-performance cloud capability. Operating with a robust national capacity, we provide the infrastructure to securely manage critical data and demanding workloads. Our experience spans some of Australia’s most security-sensitive environments within Government and Critical Infrastructure, giving us deep expertise in sovereign cloud and secure data management.

As organisations increasingly adopt AI, Vault Cloud is extending this capability to enable secure, high-performance intelligence at scale. Our platform combines secure full cloud services, open architecture and high-performance AI inferencing, supported by a valued partner ecosystem. Together, these capabilities give organisations the capacity, flexibility and performance to run critical workloads while maintaining sovereignty, security and control of their data.

We are seeking an Enterprise Architect to step up as the custodian of architectural integrity and steer the Design Authority here at Vault Cloud. This role can be based in either our Canberra or Sydney office.

This isn’t a standard "cookie-cutter" corporate role. You will build, mature, and run a high-integrity architectural framework that weaves business strategy, domain roadmaps, and mission-critical sovereign operating constraints directly into our product DNA. If you are passionate about structural maturity and want to design highly resilient, battle-hardened technology footprints that safeguard critical infrastructure, this is your next big play.

You will:

  • Define the guardrails, core reference architectures, and foundational patterns (Cloud, Microservices, Security) that guide our technical ecosystem without enforcing rigid bureaucracy.
  • Own the macro portfolio view across applications and assets, leading lifecycle assessments to actively flush out obsolescence and unlock modernization plays.
  • Conduct continuous assurance reviews at critical gates to ensure project delivery matches enterprise blueprints and hits strict NFR benchmarks (scalability, disaster recovery).
  • Steering the Architecture Review Board (ARB), transforming high-level business strategy into clean, actionable technical execution blueprints.
  • Provide hands-on advisory support during early discovery phases and dive into deep-tech troubleshooting to smash architectural bottlenecks for engineering teams.
  • Mentor and coach solution architects and senior engineers, building cross-team alignment and elevating technical mastery across the business.

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Australian Citizenship: Must hold or have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
  • Extensive experience in Senior Enterprise or Solutions Architecture roles, backed by a deeper technical foundation in Infrastructure or Network Architecture.
  • Proven experience operating within high-security, high-integrity, or mission-critical tech environments.
  • Advanced fluency across Infrastructure, Networks, and Security, giving you the confidence to interrogate complex engineering designs and hold technical peers accountable.
  • An innate ability to adapt standard industry frameworks (such as TOGAF, NIST, or SABSA) to fit unique, highly regulated, or sovereign business models rather than relying on textbook deployments.
  • Advanced, practical exposure to compliance frameworks relevant to secure infrastructure (such as ISM, IRAP, ISO, etc.).
  • Exceptional Stakeholder Influence

What’s in it for you?

  • Be at the forefront of cyberwarfare, the greatest technology challenge of our generation
  • 5 days of bonus leave per year
  • Company paid Parental Leave
  • A diverse culture where we celebrate our people and their unique, individual perspectives

Our culture is a big part of who we are so, for us, it is vital that each of our people (known as Vaulter’s) align to and are continuously guided by our core values.

Join us now and become part of the future of secure cloud services and provide a significant contribution to our nation's success.
