
Synechron is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer with expertise in ASP.NET, SSIS, SSRS, Autosys, and domain knowledge of Charles River. This role involves supporting, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise-level investment management applications, ensuring system stability, security, and compliance. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement automation, contributing to operational resilience and business efficiency.
Software Requirements
Required Software Proficiency:
ASP.NET (latest stable version) — strong experience in developing and supporting web applications and services
SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) — hands-on experience designing and managing data integration workflows
SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) — proficiency in creating and maintaining reports supporting business intelligence needs
Autosys — strong knowledge in scheduling, job automation, and monitoring batch processes
SQL Server — supporting database queries, tuning, and data validation
ServiceNow — basic familiarity with incident, change management, and workflow management (preferred)
Charles River (investment management domain) — comprehensive understanding of workflows, data flows, and system configuration (preferred)
Preferred Software Skills:
Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS supporting enterprise integrations (optional)
Automation and scripting: PowerShell, Python for support automation (desirable)
Monitoring tools: Nagios, Splunk, or similar tools supporting operational health monitoring
Overall Responsibilities
Support, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise applications related to Charles River investment management platform, ensuring system stability and data accuracy
Develop and optimize SSIS data pipelines and SSRS reports to support business analytics and operational reporting needs
Coordinate with IT, business, and vendor teams to resolve incidents and support scheduled jobs using Autosys and ServiceNow workflows
Automate routine operational tasks, manage batch jobs, and enhance system workflows for efficiency
Perform root cause analysis, resolve system errors, and optimize performance for mission-critical financial systems
Maintain detailed documentation, including operational procedures, system configurations, and incident reports
Support system upgrades, migrations, and patching activities supporting compliance and operational best practices
Collaborate in change management processes, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to policies

Experience Requirements
5+ years of support and maintenance experience in enterprise investment or financial systems
Proven ability to support Charles River or similar investment management systems in a high-availability environment
Experience in supporting automated batch processes with Autosys and workflows for compliance and operational efficiency
Knowledge of database management, SQL tuning, and report generation in SQL Server
Strong troubleshooting skills, incident management, and root-cause analysis in enterprise contexts
Experience working with cross-functional teams including IT, compliance, and business units
Day-to-Day Activities
Monitor and troubleshoot enterprise applications, batch jobs, and reporting workflows
Support daily operations, incident resolution, and timely problem escalation
Develop and refine Autosys jobs and workflows to improve automation and system reliability
Support system upgrades, patches, and migrations while minimizing operational impact
Collaborate with users, vendors, and internal teams to analyze issues and implement resolutions
Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, workflows, and operational procedures
Conduct root cause analysis, perform performance tuning, and optimize data workflows
Participate in shift support and emergency response activities supporting compliance standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus
5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, batch processes, and reports in financial or investment environments
Experience supporting Charles River or similar workflow and data systems (preferred)
Certifications in IT service management, database, or related fields are a plus
