As we accelerate the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence across the organisation, we’re seeking an experienced Enterprise AI Enablement Lead to shape and embed our enterprise-wide AI governance and enablement capability.

Reporting to the Enterprise Data Leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in enabling the safe, responsible and value-driven use of AI across HESTA. You’ll operationalise and mature our AI governance framework, partner with business and technology leaders to accelerate AI adoption, and ensure AI solutions are governed throughout their lifecycle. This is a unique opportunity to influence strategy, shape governance practices, and position HESTA as a leader in responsible AI within Australia’s superannuation sector.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the ongoing uplift and operationalisation of HESTA’s AI governance framework, policies, standards and controls.
  • Drive AI risk, impact and governance assessments, ensuring ethical, privacy, security and regulatory considerations are embedded from concept through to deployment.
  • Partner with business, technology, risk, legal and compliance teams to enable AI initiatives that deliver measurable business value while managing risk.
  • Embed governance across the end-to-end AI lifecycle, including monitoring, assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain AI governance reporting, dashboards and insights for Executive leadership and governance forums, including AI adoption, risk and value realisation.
  • Monitor emerging AI regulation, industry standards and better practice to ensure HESTA remains future-ready and compliant.
  • Champion responsible AI by building organisational capability, delivering education programs and influencing a strong AI governance culture.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience leading AI enablement/governance, technology governance, technology risk or data governance within superannuation or financial services.
  • Demonstrated success implementing and maturing governance frameworks for AI, data or emerging technologies.
  • Experience conducting AI risk, impact and ethical assessments, with strong knowledge of AI lifecycle governance.
  • Strong understanding of AI governance frameworks such as ISO 42001, the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, and Australia’s AI Safety Standard.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian regulatory requirements, including APRA CPS 230, CPS 234, CPG 235, Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles.
  • Strong understanding of Generative AI, machine learning technologies and their associated risks and governance requirements.
  • Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with experience partnering across Executive, Risk, Technology and business leadership teams.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in AI governance, AI risk, data governance or technology risk will be highly regarded.
