The Enterostomal Therapy nurse provides acute and rehabilitative care for patients with select disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitournary and integumentary systems. Decisions involve the interpretation of general policies/procedures/instructions and formulation of methods and procedures. Promotes patient safety using the nursing process in regards to ostomy, wound and skin care. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing or above required, Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
Experience: 4 years acute care nursing experience.
Certifications: American Heart Association BLS.
Other: Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Certifications: Preferred graduate of an 8-week accredited school of Enterostomal Therapy. Preferred certification as Enterostomal Therapist by the WOCN (Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing).
